Fully expecting McCullers to dominate tomorrow. McHugh has gotten away from his bread and butter and it seems to be hurting him. If Velasquez and McCullers can continue to give you 6 to 7 innings each time out, this team should be ok.
Half of that last page was posts by the same two people, who happen to have the most posts in this thread. Ugh... I also saw your rep message, and you sir are indeed a jackass. Well, sometimes. Thank you very much for the kind words. Also... you misspelled Astros in that message. Drunj?
Really hope it's simply a correctable mechanical issue with McHugh, because he's coming close to being pulled from the rotation. He's giving up Lima-like HR numbers, and he's not striking people out. His numbers over the last 9 starts look startlingly similar to the scrub pitcher that he was prior to last season. Not ready to pull the plug just yet, but when Feldman is ready, if McHugh hasn't cleaned this up he's the one that needs to be replaced in the rotation.
I agree. About a month ago, I started getting nervous about him and he's done nothing but make me more nervous...and really, brought me to the point where I have about as much faith as him as I do someone like Hernandez. I'll give him one more start, but if he continues to pitch poorly, then it's time to go in a different direction. At least Dallas has shown that he wasnt a fluke...hoping there McHugh can get straightened out.
LOL People are already taking Keuchel as a given. Maybe he is I think the young talent will prevail, Correa included. Future is bright!! Now let's win this series today and get back on track. We don't need a 30 game stretch were go 10-20.
His cutter doesn't seem to have the bite it had last year to create whiffs and weak contact. Without his cutter being effective, he's not the same pitcher as he was last year.
LOL. As for the game today, Altuve is out again - hopefully the rest ends up helping him get his mind right and he comes back in good form. How many teams have their leader in home runs batting 8th? Then again, only 3 players in the top 30 in home runs in the majors (11+) have an OPS below .730 -- Carter, Gattis, and Valbuena.
Hopefully McCullers is dealin today but I won't be too disappointed if he is off a bit. He can't keep exceding expectation. Or can he?
He was sharp, 2 K's and made Cano look very bad. He had control over his breaking pitches, and the fastball started at 93 and end up at 96. Not sharp? 2 k's and a weak ground ball
