wow another reward. maybe now Yao can team up with Steve and have an award party and invite flavor flav as the guest of honor so he can show them how to hang it around their necks real cool like. seriosuly man if you're in China tell Yao to get his ahss back in Houston and lead Houston to the playoffs before he starts accepting awards. He should spit on that award.

I don't know if any of us are poking fun at sun09175. I think we're just all laughing at the very idea of China bothering with such an award when the recipient is so ridiculously obvious.

From what I know, ESPN do have a "most popular American golfer" award and Tiger Woods won it for the last 5-6 times, don't they?

    Why not?

Who cares? An award is an award. It's a matter of formality. It's like when it's only GWB vs. one of you guys the election still needs to be done. Tell me this, Mr. Anti-obviouses, if an NBA star jacks up 50 points a game, you'd still say that the MVP award should be suspended because it's too obvious? Give me a break.

Well, FYI the Most Valued Player award is for those whose importance is the most valuable to his team in the whole league. Not necessarily the best player. That's why AI won the award although he's clearly not the best player in the L.
