There is not a single pf in the league that can even pretend to stay with Griffin 1v1.

Cory Brewer is never a defensive guy

Agreed on Brewer. I never thought he was a great defender. Sure, he gets some steals, tries to jump passing lanes and flops every chance he gets to try to draw an offensive foul... but that doesn't make him a good defender.

    What?

The downgrade from Bev to Terry/Prig is steeeeep. Do you really think Austin ****ing Rivers goes 10/13 v Bev?

DMo isn't a flashy defender but he plays good position defense and he would be much more effective than airhead Jones.

The only 2 positives tonight were jones slapping Barnes in the face and Jason terry hitting baby Blake ... That's it. Bottom line 2-1. Now we see our heart as a team and what the coaching staff really brings to the table

I agree with this objective take. Gotta not knees jerk and just stay focused on building/grooming a better roster. Flaws get exposed in the playoffs. They are closer than you think to fixing those flaws.

Think surgical knife... Not hack saw.

And the Harden complaints are legit but he's still the Rockets best chance at a title. Gotta cover his weaknesses and highlight his strengths with the right support players.

That is probably how the Vipers play. Shoot shoot shoot, get the rebound, drive in, shoot shoot shoot, rebound.....and so on.

Man am I the only one who feels as if Blake Griffin isn't as good as we're making him out to be? dude looks out of control with no moves besides his little spinning over and over until he gets something. our bad defense is making this dude seem like the best pf in the game.

as for the guards...smh, not even gonna start.

Just lazy lazy lazy. McHale better get them to get their heads out of their asses or it'll be over soon. If he can't, then we need somebody else coaching.

Blake is obviously a great player, but yeah I kind of agree with you. To me it's Lamarcus Aldridge all over again. And when I say that I mean that Blake looks dominant against our sorry asses, but when they play GSW or Memphis in the next round (if they advance), he's not going to have it so easy. LMA dominated us, then struggled against the Spurs last year.

This was a problem for us last year and was suppose to be fixed this past offseason. We handed the reigns to JB and we showed signs early in season but clearly has faded towards end of year and showing more so in playoffs!

The team is not passing the ball, ball is getting stalled and no ball movement on the perimeter. Harden needs to do a better job of attacking and having guys cut to basket for easy shots. We need back in this series!

IMO ...think Nick should get a crack! Far more athletic and disruptive than our current PG situation. We lose offense but clearly need more "D"

Griffin looks amazing because our pf rotation is horrible and the one guy who is actually a consistent competent defender at the pf spot is wearing a suit.

The Rockets are not mentally tough because life is too easy for them in Houston. Last night, they looked like a lottery team, because they know they are done without Beverly.

The dude had 2 triple doubles vs the Spurs.

He had a bad game tonight with TOs because the spacing was bad and he was trying to do too much, but I won't underestimate his skills any longer.

There are some great PF/PG combos in the west.

How do even a healthy DMo/Bev stack up to them?

    Blake/Paul
    ZBo/Conley
    Dirk/Rondo(lol)
    Duncan/Parker
    Aldridge/Lillard
    Ibaka/Westbrook
    Unibrow/Holiday
    Lee/Curry

Granted the Rockets didn't get slapped around by Dirk and Rondo, but Dirk is in his twilight. The Rockets have to step up the defense/talent at PF/PG and fast, or just play teams defense.

Josh smith has been our worst player on defense. He had so many opportunities to help harden on those rivers drives but elected not to. It's obvious Josh and james don't like each other on the court. Josh refuses to give james the ball. Josh smith is not our ****ing creator. But the offense always finds a way to go through him. ****ing ball hog.
