With the Spurs signing of Robert Horry it made met think, it seems a lot of players played for the Rockets and the Spurs.
Atleast 18 players who played for the Rockets during the 90's had previously played for, are playing for or went on to play for the San Antonio Spurs. Maybe they just like Texas, or maybe it's a conspiracy. You decide.

    Tony Massenburg, 1990-91 SAS

    Devin Gray, 1996-97 SAS

    Sam Mack, 1992-93 SAS

    Kevin Willis, 2002-????? SAS

    Mario Elie, 1998-00 SAS

    Mark Bryant, 2001-02 SAS

    Jaren Jackson, 1997-01 SAS

    Carl Herrera, 1995-98 SAS

    Vernon Maxwell, 1988-1990, 1996-97 SAS

    Sleepy Floyd, 1993-94 SAS

    Avery Johnson, 1990-91, 1992-93, 1994-01 SAS

    Larry Smith, 1992-93 SAS

    David Wood, 1992-93 SAS

    John Lucas, 1983-84 SAS

    Anthony Bowie, 1988-89 SAS

    Byron Dinkins, 1990-91 SAS

    Chuck Nevitt, 1993-94 SAS

and now Robert Horry, 2003-???? SAS

Interesting post, may mean TMo to be signed by Spurs. The TMo summer game results in the Rocky Mt League might support another possible Spur addition? FREDTERP

Precisely. You could say the same for the Mavs. Many of them come to Texas and like the climate and want to stay.

All 3 teams have been fairly successful so players have had incentive to stay and play for a winner.

Cause they have duncan a player that they can build around with and they know will get them a ring. Or a good chance at it. I wish we had a superstar like duncan or dream that we could just sit there and know with whatever support around them at least that player would for sure bring us to the play offs.

    1. Nice warm weather.
    2. Play with great center.
    3. Contending playoff teams.

    And the real reason ...

    4. No State Income Tax.

The only other states with NBA teams and no state income taxes are: Washington and Florida.

    Washington's weather isn't a strong selling point.
Half of those players listed either played when Miami & Orlando weren't around or just began.
Dallas has only recently had a winning team after struggling throughout the '90s.

    Rocket first...
Im sure if the Rox had known how effective Avery would turn out being, they would have kept him.
