http://news.yahoo.com/civil-war-lat...vbG8DZ3ExBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDU01FOTU3XzEEc2VjA3Nj Happy 150th anniversary of the great victory for our country!
There are people so old, they've actually met and talked to Civil War veterans. Veteran benefits are still paid out to one of the children of Civil War veterans. From 5/9/14 (anniversary of the official end of the war):
¡Felicidades, Estados Unidos de Norte América! <s> Why can I see this Hangout thread? </s> Why is this in the D&D? There's some math that's not right there. I think one is born and dies, and then the other one is born just after, but... is still alive, isn't she?
Awesome. I guess I can tell Jerry Patterson and whatever other politicians want a Confederate license plate that I already have one!

its been 150 years since the civil war but lot of things still left over from that era like the black community and it's problems and federalism/states' rights.
It's been about 200 years since the end of the Spanish Inquisition but I still have a problem with burning people alive.

Wow... What a waste of money. "The way things stand, things in the Deep South almost have to get better. Otherwise, the people who live there will devolve into preverbal, overall-wearing sub-morons within a century," said Professor Dennis Lassiter of Princeton University. "Either Southerners will start improving themselves, or they'll be sold to middle-class Asians as pets." Lol...
There's a long history in the South of naming streets & putting memorials for Confederates in the non-white parts of town. I thought that was a thing of the past. See: Dowling St. in Houston
