Yes. I miss the nights where I get home from work, and the Astros are on tv...nearly every night. Can't wait to hit up MMP.
Thanks for posting! Spoiler Then why post at all? It's Houston's team and it's in the AL... pick a new team to follow if you can't enjoy the game.
I am, but it's tempered because I have DISH, so I don't get the games. I'm basically relegated to only getting to see them if/when I go to a game. Oh well. I'll still be following them.
So, when the NL eventually adopts the DH (they do it almost routinely now for ST games, along with on a semi-weekly basis since there is always in inter-league game)... will you go back to watching, or just abandon the sport altogether?

Short of Crane cashing in our future for the present aka Drayton McLane style, our days of < .400 ball are over for good. So is the the nationwide barometer that we are a laughing stock. I dont know if we are serious playoff contenders in the next couple years like many are asserting, but at least there is a possibility of it. Having joined CF in 2010, all my years here have been dismal ones on the baseball side of the site. So perhaps beginning this year, I will have something genuine to cheer about and perhaps to brag about concerning the Astros. So yes, excitement.
I used to watch 90% of all Astros games from about 2000-2007, and then my viewership just fell off a cliff. I've probably watched 3-4 entire games since then. But I find myself looking into the team more leading up to this season - and actually making an effort to know some of the players' names! I plan on going to a few games this year (assuming I have a job) and I look forward to mediocre Astros baseball!
Very excited. Though, I was even excited as the the last 5 seasons were starting knowing how bad they were going to be. Now I look at the 25-man roster for Opening Day and I'm geeked that we have a team that will compete in every series they play in. There's a lot to be excited for this season and I can't wait for it to start.
Nor do you really need to... as I'm sure that other than opening day, there will be plenty of seats available for any game you want to go to, and you won't be limited to one particular seat.
There's something cool about having a major Houston sporting event on when I get home in the evening. Something to look forward to I guess. Life of a sports fan
I am excited to see the Astros this season...the fact that we can actually see the games on Root definitely helps the cause and rather than going to Minute Maid (if people couldn't afford tickets and high concession prices) or to a bar, we can watch in the comfort of our own home. But to answer OP's question again, YES, I am excited for this year's squad. Lets hope they can keep up the good progress they've built from last season.
Team's actually looking like they can compete on a nightly basis. No gaping holes at any spot in the lineup. I once again have the ability, on almost every day of the next 5 1/2 months, to flip over to the Astros on TV. Checking the MILB box scores each morning and witnessing Correa's upcoming AA Reign of Terror. I'm not sure "excited" adequately describes my feelings. Been a fan since I was a little kid going to the Dome in the late 80's, but really started getting heavier into baseball back in college and now the Astros have been my sports obsession for the last decade plus. I've seen rock bottom and now that light at the end of the tunnel no longer looks like an oncoming train. The ******* Houston Astros are back!!! If that ever doesn't excite me, check my pulse.
