Still like T Jones as an energy player off the bench for now, but nights like tonight show that he could eventually become a solid starter.
Honestly . .. Looking at their games and body types TJones seems more a SF/PF while DMo is built more like a PF/C I think DMo needs to get stronger He reminds me of YAO the early years when everyone pushed him around but his skills were nice Rocket River
Agreed, DMo is very skilled but needs work. Very much like a lesser version of Yao. i think DMo is going to end up being a 19 pt and 9 rebound type. TJones is going to be a 17 pt and 10 pt player.
I don't know if you guys have ever guarded a big man, but it is exhausting! Getting position, trying to box out, working in the post, running through the entire game.... D-mo will be fine. Give him a break. He played decently well for guarding a massive human being.
DMO needs touches to be effective offensively, TJones does not, he is more of a garbage man. I like playing them both together
Their both willing passers so the compliments each other well. I like the combo. Rox have three pieces under 25 that you can pencil in as top end of rotation players for the next 5 years (harden DMo & jones).
The point is . .. he needs to get use to it cause I suspect that will be his job EVERY night Rocket River
Yeah he can put on 10 more pounds of muscle and he's only 24 so I believe he's still learning to use his size and strength. He's one of those guys that figures out how to utilize their strength later on in their development.
I don't see why they have to be either or. Why can't we just have a deep team???? WE aren't Sacramento Kings fans people.
Thing is, this is D-Mo after getting stronger. I recalled him being much skinnier when he first joined us. That said, D-Mo is a hardworker and will probably be hitting the weights again this offseason.
It is his lower body that needs to bulk up, he has to get stronger in the legs and hips area to hold his ground better. DD
We'll see if they have him commit to changing positions and becoming a decent backup center or if they stop playing him out of position so he can work on finishing his development into a top 10 or so PF in the game.
he is definitely bigger than he first joined us. it actually slowed down his style of play which has helped become more fluid on the offense end. i recall he used to be waaay to fast for his moves. when the dude doesn't rush his shot, he get great looks. let's hope he continues to eat. he really could be our starting center post dwight era in 3-4 years.
Until then, he needs to drop that ass, stay close, and body up against opposing bigs. It's going to be some serious pain for his thighs though.
IMO, he really needs to bulk up and become a C who can stretch the floor. He's not fast or athletic enough to guard the elite PF's in the league.
