Same here Deckard, Smith was a "blessing in disguise" considering many (myself included) wasn't sure if he would be a good fit here. But he has played very well and I'm glad to admit that I was wrong about Smoove.
So Morey says the following: -Chances Dwight will be back are somewhere less than 100% obviously, but incredibly confident he will be back before the playoffs -Dragic made it clear he didn't want to be here -Not going after any of the buyout candidates -Feel like Prigioni was the best guy available that could serve as a traditional PG and shoot the ball as an off guard. -KJ is about the future, will definitely re-sign him -McHale is well respected around the league.
^^^ I hope we at least consider looking at the buyouts, depending who they are. And good to hear about KJ. He could be a cheap Brewer replacement if Brewer is gone this summer.
If there were a good player bought out I'm sure Morey would go after him, but we aren't going to cut Dorsey and eat that $1 million just to add a marginal talent upgrade that will barely play.
With only the MLE this free agency the Rockets could possible re-visit a Dragic trade if the Heat collapse the rest of the way. No money to bring in Llull if he's available if McDaniels or even Smith are re-signed.
Dragic made it clear he doesn't want to be here and that he wouldn't come to Houston in free agency. I think that ship has clearly sailed now.
Good to hear he is wanting to re-sign McDaniels I want to see a group of Brew, McD, Jones, and Smith on the floor at some point. Will be running the court every possession. And heck Prigs can get in there to throw the alley oops

Well you can hang your hat on what Codman hears or you can hang your hat on Morey saying directly that Dragic didn't want to be here. He didn't beat around the bush, he flat out said it. Dragic didn't want to be here. Keep holding onto the riddles of hope though...
Morey believes Rockets have one of the best benches in the West. This guy is either: A) delusional B) trying to make us feeling good about not getting a playmaker and or center for off the bench C) spewing garbage to fans who will run with it
The GM flat out tells you that Dragic made it clear he didn't want to be here but you will choose to believe an anonymous internet insider who hasn't actually hit on any of his predictions and call the GM a liar basically. I give up.
glad to have morey as our gm.. hes one of the few gms who recognize undervalued talent and aquires them for next to nothing.
