Robert Sarvar wants to stick it to Dragic. He can either do it by keeping him so that Dragic takes a $$ hit even if he leaves but then Suns would be losing him for nothing. Or he can trade him to Heat and get something but then Dragic gets everything he wants. Thats gonna hurt Sarvar's pride. Better option would be to trade Dragic to Rockets. That way Suns get something for Dragic and atleast he can say that he traded Dragic to a team that was not on the given list.
You're right. I don't know about the long term but they could make some noise this year before Wade falls a part.
I think it's down to Miami and Houston and the Suns KNOW they are going to take the Rockets offer but are trying to squeeze out more by leaking to Stein. So transparent but I guess all teams feel obligated to play this game through social media.
