Don't want him on the Rockets because I don't think he has any interest in being a backup. But he's never really seemed to fit in with the Jazz. He plays and carries himself like he's not enjoying the game. Not sure if a change of scenery will help but I hope it does.
This guy is a terrible defender and just the opposite side brother of Asik. His game is broken and he seldom pass the ball when he will get it. AVOID.
Of course he is asking for trade, he knows his days in the Jazz is limited. Their future is with Gobert.
Guys, we will not win a championship or get close to one in the playoffs with a front court rotation of Dorsey, DMo, Smith, and Papanikolau. Maybe we pass on a 1-yr. rental on Kanter but we had better get someone better than what we have as an insurance policy Jones and Howard are either done for the season or reduced in capacity for the season. The playoff run in the West begins after the All Star break and the Rockets have a challenging early schedule. Our weakened front court needs repair right now to stay in 3rd-4th position. God help us if one of our current bigs go down.
We could throw a late 2nd round to them to rent him for the rest of the year. Other than that, the question is how we leverage this into Dragic. Would the Suns be interested in a 3-way that gets them Kanter?
I have no interest in acquiring a low IQ defensive no-show who would also be a malcontent on the bench. Even though it sounds insane, I'd prefer Dorsey since he at least knows his role and is just happy to be on an NBA team.
It's all aobut style and fit. Kanter is more skilled on offense than Joey Dorsey (duh) but completely incapable of filling the defense & rebounds role that Dorsey is supposed to fulfill and that the rockets "gamble then funnel it inside"defense is ideally supposed to be with Dwight healthy. Honestly I would warmly welcome Samuel Dalembert back before getting Kanter for the Rockets.
Yeah next to Davis it could work actually on the defensive end. If at least he could pass or even understood that bball is a team sport it would make his value multiply.
Here's how we get into the Enes Kanter trade, and we get Dragic Dragic to Houston Terry + Jones to Utah Kanter + Evans to Phoenix http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lknb272
Phoenix wants a 1st rounder also. so what I would send trade would be similar to urs. Dragic + Alex + Evans to Houston Terry + Kanter + 2016 1st rounder + 2015 second rounder (Utah) to Phoenix Ariza + Plumlee + Dmoe to Utah If this trade does happen Dragic / Beverley Harden / Brewer / Dragic / Nick Papa / Evans / brewer Jones / Smith / dorsey Howard / Alex I think that's strong lineup and bench
I have to disagree. Getting rid of Ariza would not help us maintain our def level. Also, Ariza is already getting relief with Brewer and there is no way Brewer gets trumpted by KPapa in our line-up. Maybe I would add the 1st rounder to PHX to go with Kanter, but thinking about it: Dragic for 1st + Terry + TJones sounds more than fair, especially since his value is low right now. So: PHX gets Kanter/Evans/2015 1st HOU gets Dragic UTA gets Terry + TJones Salaries match, PHX gets bigger and a 1st, Utah gets a big who can pass and shoot and plays def and has upside still; and we still get Dragic, who was almost an All-Star last year.
