OP, have you watched him play point guard? In my opinion, Indiana's pgs were the reason they couldn't make it to the next level pass the heat. George Hill is fools gold, and not the answer to our pg situation.

TBH he is almost identical to Bev, paid 8 million instead.

Exactly and plus you can't win a championship wit George Hill as your starting PG, no matter how great your defense is.

great post I was one of the first to talk about George hill before the start of the season. I think he's a good fit as a starter if bev was moved.

however now I would rather Kmart to join our bench crew with smith/jones/dmo & brewer. his scoring would be solid and could play off ball with harden at times.

    Rockets in: KEVIN MARTIN
Indiana In: Alexy Schved, Kostas Papanikolou and NY 2nd.

Cant see him being a target at all. He protects the ball well (although he's a mediocre dribbler, so that's weird) - that's all he brings to the table. Sure a JVG-type would like to have him but he doesn't really seem like a Morey guy.

Definitely an upgrade over Bev. And if Hill's health is a concern, so is Bev's.

The question is, what are we willing to give up for Hill?

If we pickup a PG, he needs to excel at breaking down the opposing defense with playmaking so Harden doesnt have to do everything.

That is not George Hill.. guy is more of a game manager.

I'd rather have Aaron Brooks or see a more aggressive Schved.

A career 2.7 assists as a starting PG? That sound like KingDrew levels of viscosity.

Hill isn't a playmaker -- he is very candid about the fact that he sees himself more as a scoring combo guard than a facilitator. It's why I'm not that crazy about him as a great fit on this team. He wouldn't really fill that secondary playmaker void, but he'd be much more of a scoring threat than Bev is.

I'm not sure why people are obsessed with a play maker. There's more than one way to make play happen and it doesn't have to come from one creative player. Our problem is that the defense knows exactly what Pat and Trevor will do. Shoot the three. They only drive on obvious openings and they can't finish well in traffic or with contact.

You plug in a pg, who can shoot AND is actually a threat to drive and score, well now you aren't as predictable. The defense has to make tougher decisions, which means they should guess wrong more often.

That's all we need. From there, ball movement takes care of the play making. It would be great to get a play maker, but even a scoring upgrade in hill would be extremely helpful offensively.

Oh look, we have an NBA all defensive 2nd team PG who is the 3 & D type of guard most people would want next to their primary ball handling superstar SG.... and he counts almost nothing against the cap..

but, you know, he didn't play well in January sooo... lets trade him..

Bev is just the type of guy we need in the starting line - up with harden creating...

We could use a 2nd unit floor general... it's not a pressing as some around here would make you think though...

    Play-offs:
    Bev/Terry
    Harden/Brewer/Terry
    Ariza/Brewer/Kpop
    Dmo/Jones/Smith
    Howard/Dmo/Smith

That's a very strong NBA 10 man rotation for the playoffs (if you even go that deep)

the rockets need someone who can create offense. hill aint that guy.

dragic won't be on the market since the suns have a chance at the playoffs and at resigning him.

lawson would be the next best option if the nuggets decide to blow it up. but under the radar guys could include: jameer nelson, dj augustin, mo williams, jarret jack, and darren collison.
