If Bill was on the call it would have been - Bill - "OOHHH Tmac dunks on Bradley and goes for three the old fashioned way." Clyde - "he he he"
I know that was posted last year, but this is worth noting: he listened and doesn't do that any more. I, personally, think Bill is awesome on the road and terrible at home. I can't put my finger on why. Here are two photos that might help me figure out what happens when he calls games at home: Edit: I think I figured it out.
He DEFINITELY said it in the Memphis game. Probably still says it all the time? I normally tune in to the opposition, but not the Memphis crew - for some reason I just imagine it is 'what' behind the microphone, and can't bring myself to listen to them.
Ironically there are so many humans capable of pissing off 100% of the people on an internet messageboard.
Bill was on the call as the game was both on local TV and TNT... shouldn't be hard to find it (and he wasn't as bad as you think... Bullard actually was the buffoon that made it seem like amateur hour).
Bullard did say Bill knows where DMo's stash of kitkats are on the plane, suggesting Bill is stealing PFs kitkats.
Our announcers are corny as hell, but they feel like home to me and I see no need for anyone to be fired (and go into retirement).
Bill last night, "Rockets got a lot of 3 point shooters but not a lot of 3 point makers..." I couldn't help but smile when he said that. You could tell he was frustrated at all the 3 point bricks last night. Rockets wouldn't let him release his 3 point catch phrases, he was dying to!!!
Bill is on about a four game streak of attributing a play to the wrong player, and then talking about that wrong player for 20 seconds before realizing he was wrong.
yea i caught that when the cavs player hit an early 3. he got the wrong player name and then went about 10 seconds spouting out data he had prepared specifically about that player and 3 pointers. bull couldn't have interrupted him so he let him finish LOL. when he finally finished his stats i think bull game him a signal because he just sorta said the correct players name under his breadth.
So, assumming we get rid of Bill, who replaces him? I know Bill as Mr. Rockets Basketball. Ever since I became a fan, he has been on broadcast. Honestly, he might have to live forever...
No one, because we don't get rid of him. I propose we change this thread to "Bill Worrell has got to stay FOREVER!!!"
Yeah, he's doing that seemingly every game now and sometimes more than once during the broadcast. Last night, I think he mixed up Mike Miller with another Cav who looked nothing like him(other than being white). There was also a play later in the game where the ball was knocked out of bounds by a Cavs player and Bill said it was a foul and didn't correct himself for nearly 10 seconds. Mistakes happen, but they seem to be occurring far more frequently with him. Maybe he's just off his game like Ariza and Bev.
This thread has got to go. Everyone gets things wrong from time to time especially when A) They are older and mistakes can happen when you talk for 2 1/2 hrs each broadcast B) When they going between monitors and visually watching the game unlike all of us only seeing the TV broadcast C) When you have to deal with Clyde Drexler who does the same crap "night in and night out"... You are bound to screw up listening to him right next to you. B-Will is an awesome broadcaster and I guarantee you that when he goes, he will be greatly missed. Let's not rush him out the door.
