Did you not see my original trade that got us Plumlee in return..... You have to give to recieve! And TJ will be back
Options at PG Williams - We have the salary to trade for him, would be cheap, might even get a pick back Dragic/Bledsoe/Thomas Rubio - has been injured, questionable fit, will have to give up decent assets, contract is favorable Lawson - Dark horse trade So those are our 4 best options as I see it, Teague is a possibility but with the way the Hawks have been playing I see no reason for them to trade him. Thunder are in the playoff hunt and won't trade Jackson until off season in a s&t most likely.
Do we need Dragic? We have Bev and Canaan plus Shved kid. I like Shved play from the other night came in hit his shots and didn't turn the ball over. Let's see what we have before we trade for Dragon. We are deep and we are going to need everyone to step up. If we are going to trade we need a back up for Harden other than the Jet.
Deron Williams' contract is a monstrosity. Minnesota is a very badly managed team, afraid to make mistakes, so this will not happen. I agree that the Suns have a PG who will be moved soon and I do not think it will be Eric Bledsoe. I also agree that Ty Lawson is a dark horse trade target. I think it will be Dragic. Look at this trade made today between Phoenix and Detroit. Detroit wanted a low budget stretch four, and that is what Anthony Tolliver is. Phoenix will cut Tony Mitchell and his non-guaranteed salary. Fellas! Phoenix is trying to create cap space and they are doing it just as Houston is needing to create a roster spot for Josh Smith. All signs point to a trade involving Houston, Phoenix, and perhaps a third team. Dragic to Houston, Donatas Motiejunas and Isaiah Canaan, plus the Pelicans first rounder, headed out, but not necessarily all to Phoenix. We may see something like this: Dragic and filler to Houston Canaan, the Pelicans pick, and a mystery big salary veteran--Kevin Garnett?--to Phoenix Motiejunas and either Papanikolaou or Terry to mystery third team (Brooklyn?) Brooklyn gets Motiejunas plus significant payroll/luxury tax savings this way. Phoenix gets assets that help them both now (Garnett, Canaan) and later (Canaan, the pick). Houston effectively replaces Motiejunas with Smith, Canaan (and/or Terry) with Dragic, and merely has to give up a late 2015 lottery pick for these upgrades. This may happen very soon, Friday, I am thinking. Phoenix noticed what a PG in his late twenties who is an unrestricted free agent this summer just went for in that Boston-Dallas trade, i.e., next to nothing. Houston's current offer is probably as good at it is going to get, and it might even get worse. We may even see Dragic AND Garnett to Houston. Phoenix gets all of the goodies from Houston, with Brooklyn only getting the payroll/tax relief. This would be quite the heist! Something does seem to be in the works here, stay tuned...
KG still has his no trade clause (yeah, I know, that worked well for Cisco). Would KG want go to Phoenix?
Phoenix has long been one of the league's most desirable destinations. Do not forget that the Suns GM has a working relationship with KG from their days together in Boston. Phoenix may instead be trying to pry away Mason Plumlee. Do not forget that Phoenix recently paired the Morris brothers together. Are they trying to pair the Plumlee brothers together? In this scenario, Phoenix absorbs a bad Nets contract, probably either Deron Williams or Brook Lopez. Again, the Suns are creating additional cap space for a reason! They are up to something. I think it involves Houston, and Dragic, and a bad team with severe luxury tax issues, and nobody is in worse shape than Brooklyn. Deron Williams' contract is AWFUL, just as bad as Josh Smith's, maybe worse. No team was willing to trade anything for Smith! This works, I think: Goran Dragic and P.J. Tucker to Houston Deron Williams, Mason Plumlee, Donatas Motiejunas, Isaiah Canaan, and the Pelicans first round pick to Phoenix Jason Terry, Kostas Papanikolaou, and Gerald Green (all expiring contracts) to Brooklyn Brooklyn saves a ton of money this season, plus they have pawned off Williams' contract; this is worth the price of giving up Mason Plumlee. Houston drastically upgrades at G (from Terry/Canaan to Dragic), at SF (from Papanikolaou to the greatly undervalued Tucker), and at PF (from Motiejunas to Josh Smith, although I'm not sure this is an upgrade). The Pelicans pick is going to be late lottery, so no great loss. The Suns avoid having to max out the aging Dragic, they receive all sorts of cheap, and valuable goodies, and all they have to do is give up Tucker, Dragic, and agree to pay Williams. I love this trade for Phoenix. Anyway, something is going down in the next 4-5 days, I'm thinking...
While getting a pg upgrade would be nice, I'd be fine letting this play out for a few months. While we might be lacking some in the pg area, we are stronger in areas other teams are weaker. Let's see what we have before making big moves and depleting the bench.
Doubt the rockets is going to let go terry after trading Daniels. We need at least one three point shooter specialist. Canaan, kpap, capela, and no pick for dragic
Trades, turnover - no time to develop chemistry = no championship or contention. The team is good enough as is to win it all. DD
Way too much. DMo or the Nola Pick but not both. I'm as high on DMo as I am on Dragic..and we need more depth in the front court
You don't trade big for small.....and it creates another hole at backup Center. DMo has to stay... DD
