TJ is missing so much time at this point that he is going to have to build his game back up again coming off the bench. That could take a while for him to get back to where he was performing pre-injury. I'm wondering if he will even be back this season at this rate?

TJones will play 20 mpg in spark mins when this goes down.

JSMOOVE and DMO will get all the mins at PF and backup C they can handle.

    OMG so excited.

I actually like the idea of having Dmo coming off the bench. It would give us another good scoring option when Harden and Dwight are resting. I'd rather have Smith running the 4 for defensive purposes because Dmo wont be getting the ball as much when Harden and Dwight are on the floor.

Actually it isn't, you just are not thinking.

Nobody...NOBODY thought we could get him on such a cheap, short term deal. In the past it was always giving up too much and having him with a large, long term contract. These are two different scenarios.

We get him, if he is a cancer, we can move him for something as a cheap expiring.
    Low risk, high reward.

Pretty much....he seemed excited. We can all like, or dislike this move....the only people who's opinions really matter are the team and the FO. Let's sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

Yes.. DMo will arguably perform better off the bench in 25-30 mpg getting all the post touches he can handle...

And if we get Goran as 6th man.. watch out nba

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting Josh Smith but if he signs a 1 year deal and plays great what kind of contract do we offer him in the next offseason? Just curious how much you guys think he'd be worth if the Rockets wanted to keep him.

At 2 million its smarter to sign him for 2 because if he is a good player he does not cost money this offseason when trying sign Goran Dragic.

Sign Smith. Terrance Jones' career is over.

I'll have to do some digging but I read that the Rockets were going to let him pick if he wanted a 1 or 2 year deal. Can't remember if one of the analyst tweeted it or if cyberx said it.

Before the season, people were bemoaning the lack of depth. Now, people are fretting over the lack of minutes to pass around.

To me, this potential new lineup looks deep and crisp and even.

Smith gives rockets a great defensive weapon agains all the great west PF. (Aldridge, Zbo, Griffin, Dirk and Duncan).
We need some muscle there along with Howard.
Dmo is great but still young to batle along in a playoff game

Great move if it happens. I think Smith will fit well.

I really wanted him the offseason we signed Howard (before he signed the Detroit contract). He takes T Jones' role and will fill it well with better defense. I also like DMO off the bench so he can get more post touches.

The rest of the league should start fearing us. Red Nation ready to roll, and if we get can somehow get Dragic without giving up D-Mo...wow...just wow.

    I'm loving this team.

I wonder what would happen here if Smith didn't sign like at 530pm EST today or something and waited until after Christmas to sign. Would CF melt down and get all pissed after so many vocal posts about how terrible/cancerous he is?
