This is Coon's answer. He WILL NOT provide a time frame for when that player traded for can be stepped up using the 125% and 150% rule. I've asked him multiple times. He NEVER answers that question.
Why do all of these trades involve sending Jason terry out...are you people not watching these games?
Terry is basically untradeable right now. He's not only providing leadership, but he's producing! I can't see Morey moving him after seeing how he affects the team chemistry.
This thread is for trade ideas. It's hard to get much in return without sending JET, Papa, or Ariza out because of salaries. All three of them are contributing, but that doesn't necessarily make them untouchable. Anyone on the team is available for the right price.
I wonder if we could pry away Afflalo if Denver starts selling. He isn't much of a defender, but he is a great shooter and a good passer. He fits into the Lin TPE also.
Trade 1 Houston trades: KPap, Tjones/DMo, 2x2015 2nd round pick Boston trades: Jeff Green Trade 2 Houston trades: NO 1st, Clint Capela, Nick Johnson Phoenix trades: Goran Dragic into TPE Lineup PG: Goran Dragic, Patrick Beverly, Isaiah Canaan SG: James Harden, Jason Terry, Troy Daniels SF: Trevor Ariza, Jeff Green, Francisco Garcia PF: DMo/Tjones, Jeff Green, Al Harrington (min FA) C: Dwight Howard, Tarik Black, Joey Dorsey Spend the full MLE next summer on a backup C.
I wouldn't mind that at all. His defense may get better once he joins us, though their asking price is likely to be quite high.
Kirilenko. Good passer, ball handler, defender (steals, blocks), stretch 4, high BB IQ. And would be cheap due to the off court issues. Morey loves those kind of buy low, high reward deals like Terry. Could see Nets giving picks so we take him off their hands.
I'm fairly certain they use it too , the 8.4million dollar question is WHEN?!? They have a lot of options with its use: They can use it before Dec 19ish and be able to use that player in a larger deal at the deadline. They can use it after that Dec19th date and before the Feb deadline and may not have to send a significant player out in return (other than to open a roster spot) , just absorbing the salary from a team looking to save $$ for little to no return. They can wait until the offseason and use it after they use what cap space they have in free agency and they have a small window between the start of the signing period and the TPE's expiration date of July 15.
I guess that DM will try to use it before the February deadline, when other teams are most likely to agree to a trade.
Question: if Phoenix decides to resign Dragic to a big time deal...isn't that pretty much guaranteeing their mediocrity? If they want to contend for a title, they'd need at least an all star caliber big man. Keef is good but not that good. Is Dragic being moved almost a guarantee?
Sarver is all about the money over building a contender, ie appeasing his city of white retirees, that's Phoenix.
If I'm not mistaken, Trade 2 is not going to work. You can't use TPE plus players trade for a larger contract.
You act like having small contracts are a bad thing LMAO. The Rox wont do trades for the sake of incremental upgrades, the whole reason we have these small contracts is they are gearing up for a run at a 3rd star. Terry has a lot of value now because his contract is expiring, he is producing, and later on you can resign him for cheap once his current contract expires. You need to get a ton of value if you're gonna trade that away, the trade proposals I see here are we lose him or Kpap and Tjones or DMo and picks for Jeff Green? Wtf when DMo is averagi g almost a double double by himself with good D lets trade him and other guys for Jeff Green whom the crappy Celts dont even want just for kicks.
