2 steps are a travel? Seems like I learned something today.

    He traveled. End of story.

Watch again. He switched pivot feet. Can't do that.

And then he took 3 steps.

    He actually traveled twice LOL!

The "first step" text is a little late, should be when his right leg hits the ground, then he takes one more and jumps off his left leg. 2 steps overall.

This dude Parsons is what I would call a STB (Small Team Bully). He beats up on the small teams and then freezes against the better teams.

3-9 so far for Portions against the Suns

Yup, I said that last year heading into the Portland series, and why I wanted him not resigned for any price. Dallas has done well because of Monta and Tyson Chandler's play this season, Chandler has been a detriment more often than not.

I think his offensive shortcomings are overstated. It's his defensive ones that are truly glaring. Rockets paired him with Harden and they were atrocious on D. Mavs pairs him with Monta and they are atrocious on D. Just from a chemistry standpoint, the Mavs should've gone with an Ariza type alongside Ellis to minimize his defensive issues. We see this year how having a defensive anchor with Ariza has helped Harden.

I thought Ariza for Parsons was going to be lateral move. But the fact that Parsons still won't play D despite already being paid and theoretically getting much better coaching (Carlisle vs. McHale), is really showing his lack of winning mentality.

Even professional athletes who played in the NBA said it was a travel, Tim Legler, and Bruce Bowen, and many many analyst.

Its a travel because he didn't set his pivot. Shuffled his feet before going into the turnaround.

Never liked that the NBA prefers no calls at the end of games

He takes a step with his right and turns about 160 degrees. Meanwhile, his left foot has moved from clearly outside the paint to being half in the paint. I think he moved his left foot before his "first step."

So is this thread now hijacked and turned into a "did this guy travel thread?"

    I'm all in on that.

    did he travel?

in the closing second of a game all you need to know is this:

    Offensively, you can travel.

Defensively, you can bump a guy off, basically a blocking foul.

Obviously, neither can be too obvious, but refs will let anything go that's questionable.

The 2 steps assumes the first step is a gather step, since he had both feet down when he picked the ball up, you don't get a gather step.

The moment Monta picks up his right foot, he established his left as the pivot foot, and the moment the left foot hit the floor again it was a travel.

In real basic terms on how its officiated, only one of your feet can touch the ground twice, in Monta's case, both did.

The max contract player finally delivered a performance worthy of a max contract. What was it...20 games in? Solid return on the Mavs investment.
