I still have a Jeremy Lin bobblehead doll on my dresser, and I've been called racist here before by "Lin/China supporters," an act of the rankest stupidity. I won't post in this thread again. Frankly, I wish it would disappear. Can I put a thread on "ignore?" Serious question.
1. I may be from Nairobi but I can guarantee you that I have lived in Houston longer than you have. I have also been to the Dream's roots and upbringing. 2. I am not a "black poster", LOL. In fact no where close to it not that there is anything wrong. Shows your utter ignorance and stereotyping, borderline racist behavior. Not everyone from Nairobi is black. Grow up, kid. Expand your geography. Travel a bit. You have a lot to learn. 3. Nice stalking job. You take petty jabs at other posters for the same kind of stuff. Hypocrite. Pot, Kettle, Black.
I haven't been here as long as you, but maybe Comets just happened to not like Yao's game? He also says he liked Lin initially: "When we signed Lin I actually sent Morey a congratulatory tweet despite the fact I'm allegedly a racist" There are definitely some people who have said some racist things here, but are you sure you aren't misdirecting your racism accusations? Tinman, I respect you as a poster, and you are very reasonable. Yes, I'd like that very much, to discuss Lin's TO's, foot on the line threes, and occasional 20 point games. I'll help and do my part in calling out LOF's here, maybe help out a bit in eradicating the rest of this plague, but maybe you can help restrain some of the more "zealous zombie hunters" here?
It's also making fun of the fact that people do find it more acceptable to make fun of Asians. Not trying to play any victim card thing here, just trying to point out what I think the SNL skit was getting at.
No I really like your TV references. I'm talking about if a couple individuals are clearly getting out of hand with the pitchforks and witch hunts, and occasional racial remarks. I have no legitimacy to call them out, but you can. I know you thrive on humor, so this is not really your thing, but it's just a request.
Since we're talking about historical context, would you say asians in america were persecuted and treated in the same manner african americans were over the past 200 years? are they as heavily targeted by police and involved in heavy system bias today? has their struggle for upward social mobility been harder than african americans? would you say that's relevant? it's one thing to be angry because of a joke, or a girl stereotyping against you, another to see you angry because you're in prison with no job prospects for being black. and let's be honest- that's not far from the truth.
Of course not! It doesn't mean the people who have suffered "less" deserve that either, but yes I am not doubting the fact that African Americans were persecuted and treated much worse throughout American history.
I think the comment is understated? Anyone who posts on Clutchfans is not racist UNLESS they like Lin. Then they are racist. Better?
Tinman has shown that he's reasonable. He knows I am a Lin supporter, and he has been polite to me. He's just scarred from some of the more extreme LOF's from another time, which is understandable.
All I know is the sous chef at one of the best sushi restaurants in Seattle is a white woman. She's been doing it for decades. Reminded me of an episode of The League.
Well, from the box score, it looks like Lin is definitely not playing well this game. Hoping he bounces back, but historically he does not often have good games after poor first half starts.
J. Lin. 0-10 FG. 0 pts. 4 AST. 3 TO. Hate to say I told you so. But... I told you so. GM's aren't going to put up with this nonsense once the Morey contract runs out. The gimmick is over.
Good lord tonight's stats are abysmal so far. Did he finally abandon God's teachings and try crack for the first time just before the game?
I like how Lin is having the worst game of his life, and so far this there is no name calling, or racism accusations, or another thread meltdown. Maybe this thread is actually salvageable.
The guy's inconsistency is maddening. Can't believe my first thread on this forum was a statistical analysis in support of his consistency.
