Sad when you compare it to the fact the Rockets could only get 1 point against that team in about 3 minutes.
How good exactly do you think your short-term memory is? Its not comparable, but for different reasons: It were 3 players that scored those 7 points in 5.9 seconds, if it would be one player we could have talked about it though.
They still suck really bad. Maybe even historically bad. Winning a game here and there doesn't change that.
Their offense can sometimes score some points if the role players hit their shots -- and Kobe feels like passing the ball. Their defense is historically bad. The fact that we only scored 92 points on them says something about our offense lately.
The Lakers are not historically bad. They have played the toughest schedule in the league but they are 3-0 against below average or bad teams.
Definitely the toughest schedule by far @ this point. Opp win% of .664 against other teams and only 1 of13 games against below .500 teams. Compared to Rockets opp win% of .385 against other teams and 8 of 12 games against below .500 teams. If they can figure out how to play better team D they could do a lot better the rest of the season.
Boozer questionable tonight, Special Ed Davis to start? https://twitter.com/markg_medina/status/536607090924462081
If the Lakers would quit giving wins to other teams, other teams wouldn't have such high winning %. On the other hand, the Rockets keep dishing losses to other teams, which makes their opponents have low winning %.
The Lakers' defense is very good at forcing teams to NOT take mid range shots, and instead settle for FTs, 3 ptrs, and points in the paint. Yes, BScott apparently prefers allowing opposing teams open 3's versus open 2's. Also, all of the starters except Kobe are not under contract past this season. This is true of most of the bench as well. (Sacre sadly (for them) being one of the exceptions). And it shows in how these guys are playing together. On offense, although they have looked good sometimes, they could be a lot better. There are only two teams who have passed the ball less than the Lakers. On defense, there is lack of ability, but also a notable lack of effort.
Look at it this way: Lakers' opponents win .664 against other teams, but they win .769 against the Lakers. Rockets' opponents win .385, but they win .231 against the Rockets.
Wow, watched a little of my first Lakers game this season. I don't know if the 2nd half of this Denver game is any indication, but it really is the clear out for Kobe show. It's almost comical. I wouldn't blame the rest of the team if they walked over to the bench every possession and drank some Gatorade while Kobe dribbled down the court to heave up another shot.
