Asik had some Great Games when Howard was injuried Last Season and he was playing next to Jones WHO has no Jumpshot whatsoever

    Davis>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tjones

I love Asik, he's a top 10 C. But he'll never be an All-Star. Especially since the switch to frontcourt/backcourt player selection.

I guess your definition of great is lots of rebounds.

The first 3 games Howard missed we were 3-0(UTA,MIN,CLE) and Asik averaged:
    29.6 MP
    4.3/8.0 FG/FGA .542
    2.3/3.7 FT/FTA .636
    2.3 ORB
    5.7 DRB
    8.0 TRB
    1.7 AST
    0.0 STL
    2.3 BLK
    1.3 TOV
    11.0 PTS
Higher than usual AST and BLK, lower TOV.

In the last 8 games Howard missed we were 3-5(LAC,BRK,TOR,OKC,DEN,LAL,DEN,MIN) and Asik averaged:
    31.5 MP
    4.3/7.5 FG/FGA .567
    2.9/4.6 FT/FTA .622
    3.9 ORB
    11.9 DRB
    15.8 TRB
    0.5 AST
    0.9 STL
    1.3 BLK
    2.1 TOV
    11.4 PTS
Except for the rebounds nothing special except we did beat OKC in one game.

Give me those 3 guys and stick me in the east and I'll get a playoff spot.

As has already been mentioned, he has to beat out all the power forward and center candidates to make the all star game. Barring a massive rash of injuries to stars at those positions it's not going to happen even if he has a career year.

It's weird, but Jones still opens up the lanes. I'm not sure why, but we (Rockets) shoot better % from everywhere and score more easily when he is on the court vs off the court.

I agree Davis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TJones, and have no issue seeing Asik/ Davis working as a frontcourt - but the rationale of 'no jumpshot' wasn't a major issue last season (would be SO nice if a jumpshot appeared this season).

Keyword potential. We will see how it plays out. Asik has size and a solid presence but his hands are pretty bad and his jumping ability might be the worst in the NBA.

Asik won't be an all-star, but he has the potential to really boost his next contract by proving to be a solid piece on a budding contender. The Pels potentially have an MVP type player in Davis and a smart PF in Anderson. I don't like Tyreke on any team but swap him out with some veteran leadership and I don't see why they can't cause trouble for the next 3 years.

Nah, this is a nice way of saying omer sucks on offense. It doesn't matter if there's a guy shooting jumpers or jump hooks.

I mean "suck" doesn't really complement anything

Note: Asik did indeed average close to 10 points per game but in what system?

Use him in a mediocre or lesser offensive team and his numbers are going down
