Gonna be checking out San Diego this week for the first time. Anyone have any suggestions for beaches/bars/restaurants/etc?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I've lived in San Diego for 20+ years

    Beaches/scenic spots
-Coronado Island/Coronado beach/hotel del Coronado- probably the best beach in San Diego. In fact it was ranked as one if the best beaches in the whole US.

-Torrey Pines State Preserve. Awesome views of the ocean and hiking trails

Restaurants - check out the C-level lounge on harbor island. Best dining view in SD. George's in la jolla is a close 2nd. I would do George's for lunch for a awesome la jolla cove view and C level in the evening. You basically eat out on the water and see downtown San Diego and Coronado bridge light up at night.

Gotta check out balboa park while ur out here too. If you want to hit up some bars just walk down gas lamp district. Tons of micro brewery's. Have fun!!!

Go to the Safari Park. If you have the cash to burn, do the behind the scenes tour.

Yes there is always the world famous San Diego zoo. That is right next to balboa park.

Stone brewery is cool but most out of towners stay near downtown area. Escondido is just too far for just a brewery.

I wouldn't recommend Lego land either unless you have kids under 14

    This! Cant recommend it enough.

Lots of little bars/restaurants in North Park, as well. Belching Beaver has a Peanut Butter Milk Stout on tap.

    ...and everything SunsRocketsfan said.

My kids and myself really enjoyed the USS Midway this past summer. We stayed in LaJolla and that area is awesome.

The Zoo also has a separate wildlife park which is worth a visit.
