While I agree 100%..... What does that have to do with anything. I don't think anyone in the thread is claiming Bledsoe to be on that level.

Bledsoe is a nice player, he's good but not great. He still suffers from the same problems Lin has which is jumping into the air to pass to the other team and losing his handle.

He is super talented but us rockets fans have gotten spoiled the last 2 season we're not gonna get another Dwight and I can promise you with even more certantity we're not going to get a guy like harden.

Remember harden is the same age as Bledsoe (scary right?) we gotta face the facts that whoever we bring in is going to have holes in his game theirs no way we pull another james harden out of a trade again.

When we got Dwight, everyone knew baring injury he was the best big man and a top 10 player. Now when we got harden most thought we over paid for him. Now 2 yrs later he's a top 5-10 player in the game at 24 coming off two seasons off all nba play. The reality is Darryl Morey got extremely lucky and I would bet even he didn't think Harden was going to be this good and especially not this fast. Think of it this way how many guys avg 25 5 and 5 on their rookie contracts? Not many. and how many play for another team on his next deal? Never happens. the thunder we're in a position that will never be duplicated and DM was smart enough to pounce on it.

I don't think you are remembering that era correctly. Before the Harden trade there were multiple posts along the lines of "How do we get Harden?" and overwhelming approval of the trade when it did occur.. At the time it was pretty clear that we had ripped the Thunder off.

Morey announced that he was interested in Harden before the trade and most people were stoked by the possibility:

80% of members liked the trade for Harden:

I'm surprised at that 80% poll. There was definitely a loud vocal minority on that one (Someone had that "this is Trevor Ariza all over again" quote in their signature for a long time).

I wasn't talking about us, of course we we're happy. We we're happy about JLin. So no surprise their. I was talking about the media, is say 80% thought we we're crazy for giving him the max. Sources came out after that the wizards wouldn't trade brad beal who hadn't played a minute yet in the nba and the warriors we're scared to lose klay Thompson. Their good players but c'mon we both no they would trade their stars for harden let alone these guys.

Not saying you are wrong but I don't really remember the media crucifying the Harden extension. I do know that OKC fans hate Bill Simmons because he never lets up about Morey fleecing the Thunder in that trade.

Thinking about it.. I think we should go all in for Faried, or Reggie Jackson.

We could trade for Faried, and still be able to sign a free agent PG to 4 years 52 million while keeping Faried and Beverley restricted.

Dragic and Rondo will be unrestricted
Rubio, Walker, Jackson, Knight will be restricted

I don't think Dragic would sign for so cheap, I think Rubio and Walker would be matched... but Rondo, Knight and Jackson would be fair game.

We could also do the opposite, trade for R.Jackson, he's the only one cheap enough that we could keep restricted and still have ample cap space, try to sign one of Milsap, Green, Young or Faried with cap space, then resign Jackson with. Plus i'd love to get Jackson just to troll Thunder fans with our Jackson and Harden backcourt.

We need to target Bledsoe and Illyasova. Roll the freaking dice. Who else better is/will be available? Howard is watching what we do. He will leave if we don't do something.

The main reason I see Bledsoe remaining a Sun is that Phoenix has all the leverage. Unless he backs down from his demand for a max contract, he's going to sign his qualifying offer and Phoenix gets one more year for cheap. He then plays out the season and if he doesn't perform/get injured they let him walk. If he performs, he gets his money. Unless the relationship between Bledsoe and the suns has deteroriated so much that it's irreparable, I don't see a crazy amount of incentive for the suns to jump into a sign and trade.

The motive as the Suns is you already know that you will not pay him "what the market demands" in the offseason. If he were to sign a one-year offer with the Suns he would certainly be traded before the deadline.

No. What can Faried and Jackson compared to what we already have? Faried is no better than Jones, and I certainly don't want to waste all of our flexibility on Reggie Jackson.

In theory that thinking is right but under the rules it would be tough. Bledsoe would have to approve any trade, and the team receiving him wouldn't have his bird rights, which would be the main reason you would trade for him.

Given his history and the suns management using "asset" style of thinking, I have to imagine they want a sign and trade.

That gm seems to like picks and he just lost one from the twolves because they will never be above the protection. Seems like the nop pick, kostas, dmo is as good as he's gonna get.

The rumors about rondo look nice from bos point of view, but not that good from the suns, as he would probably leave next summer to a contender.

I don't see many options for them besides us. I don't believe our package is all that strong, but I don't see anything better out there

It was less fleecing OKC and more of the fact that they willingly destroyed a possible dynasty in the making (because of a cheap owner).

Is it true S&T deals have to be for at least 3 years, without options?

You wouldn't waste our flexibility on Jackson and a PF like Faried, Milsap?

I view Jackson highly, I think if he was given the starting role that he would ball.

13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assist, 1 steal shooting 44/34/89% in 28 minutes on a top 3 team in the league last season. Last season was also his first season of meaningful minutes, he still has tons of potential. In the playoffs this year Jackson also shot 40% from 3 in 20 games.

... and he's a good defender, seriously you give him 35 minutes a night and there's no doubt that he's gonna put up at least 15+, 5, 5. Which are basically Bledsoe's numbers, except Jackson would be cheaper and come without the injury concern.

I absolutely would "waste all of our flexibility" on Jackson and a high quality PF.

Trading for Reggie Jackson would be interesting I think he's a good young player that can start. And could be a repeat of the James Harden deal. Plus didn't Jackson say he isn't coming off the bench next year and wants to start?
