I would really appreciate it if you did answer the question in the first part of my post.

It is important to note, instances of anti-semitism in Europe and NA today are grossly outnumbered by instances of islamophobia. This isn't 1944. It's 2014.

Furthermore, Israel is a huge reason for the rise in anti-semitism in the Muslim world. That is only logical. Why? Because despite how you defined Zionism, which is a fair definition, the land which Zionists claimed happened to be populated by a group of people, Palestinians. And to accomplish the goals of Zionism, Israel must ethnically cleanse the native population, which it has done by various means since 1948. Do you understand now why Zionism is a dirty word today? Because it relies on racist, discriminatory, and illegal means to establish an ethnically pure colonial state.

Nothing I have said in this post relies on emotion or subjectivity. It's purely common sense.

It's always been annoying to me when people say "anti-Semitic" when they are really just talking about someone who hates Jews or Israelis. Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians are Semites too.... Unless the hatred extends to all Semites, the term is stupid.

 

Agreed but unfortunately no one uses the term 'anti-semitism' to describe racism against Arabs. I used the term in its most commonly understood form, unconditional dislike of Jewish people. But really, Palestinians think of their occupier when they think of Jews because it's the most prominent manifestation of Judaism in the Palestinian's experience. So I would suggest that though a small portion of Palestinians are anti-Semitic, the vast majority of them are understandably anti-Zionist.

Semite is a term that refers specifically to one who speaks a Semitic language. The most notable Semitic languages are Hebrew, Arabic, Syriac, and Aramaic.

 

Amharic is the second most spoken semitic language. So don't forget Ethiopians, either.

It's more often the other way around -- Beta Israel tend to be religious and nationalistic and not marry any secular jews, much less non-Jews, but not always of course. My drummer (a Christian) managed to score an Ethiopian Jewish wife by virtue of a shotgun wedding, athough anything is possible if you're a musician.

I really hope Israel will liberate Gaza from these guys, IMO this is the only way to start improving the situation there.
