Seriously? That would be a win in my book. Don't forget we still have MLE too. Asik and Lin were being traded no matter what, both were frustrated with the team, neither ft with our core, they had to go. Parsons was awesome but 15 million is way too much, can't over pay players. Ariza for cheap and Dragic is a great replacement. MLE and BAE players, Centers - (Ayon, Okafor, Blatche) (Aminu, Marion, Johnson) add one SF and C, and our team would be more then a clear notch above our team last year. Dragic/Beverley/Smith Harden/Daniels/Johnson Ariza/Marion Jones/Motiejunas/Adrian Howard/Okafor/Dorsey Vs Beverley/Lin/Canaan Harden/Daniels/Johnson Parsons Jones/Motiejunas Howard/Asik I'll take the Dragic/Ariza team everyday.
Keep in mind that Carl pretty much just trolls Harden now. Which is unfortunate because when he isn't beating the same drum over and over again he's one of the best posters here.
The Rockets aren't getting Love unless Love forces Minnesota to deal him here. The offer you suggest would get trumped by at least a few teams.
Go right ahead and name them. Name the team that can trump that deal and also get Love committed there long-term so they would actually give up more than that proposed deal. #waiting
One thing I also really like about these moves is we would become an ELITE 3 point shooting team. Last year we shot the most 3 pointers in the league, but were only tied for 15th in 3 point %. Dragic: 41% Harden: 37% Ariza: 41% That's the kind of shooting you need around Howard constantly, and doesn't include the minutes Canaan and Daniels would get off the bench. We were also 28th in the league in FT shooting %, yet shot the most FTs in the league Assuming TJones is replaced by a better all-around shooter, those numbers will improve as well.
Didn't Kevin Love change his mind about Cleveland after Lebron went there? (I don't know what the forward-looking salary situation with Cleveland is like though)
You're probably underselling Dragic, but you also have to forget about what could have been with Bosh or you'll be disappointed for a long time. Adding Ariza and Dragic would be a step forward from last year.
I'm curious about why the Rockets would need to wait (until saturday) to pull the trigger on a deal that people are implying is already in place. Why wouldn't they just do it now? If it involves a player on our summer league team, wouldn't you rather just do it? I'm sure Morey doesn't have a great appetite for allowing time for things to change.
They lost because McHale got out coached and that Mickey Mouse Analytic Offense they run. Either that are just get better defenders on the team. Harden is the reason we got to where we were at. You seem to forget that. K-Mart tries _ but we would have still been a lottery team if we had him instead of Harden.
No idea. I was just responding to the poster and assumed he was alluding to the same guy(who now says we'll either hear something or something will happen on saturday) that mentioned 24 hours or w/e.
He needs to get better, no doubt. But we now have a player who can cover up his shortcomings on the defensive side of the ball. Parsons was equally as useless when the pace slowed down.
So Rockets fans complain about Harden's defense but y'all want Love... Lmao. He can't even guard TJ. That dude plays NOOOOOO defense.
Like Derrick Rose in Chicago? Kobe Bryant in LA? You can win with one bad perimeter defender, the problem arises when you have 2 or 3 of them.
Plus the impact of the possible lottery reform on the NOP pick. It has a better chance of the achieving 4-6 if the new plan is implemented for next year.
I think Harden can be better on D. In OKC he actually had more energy on that end of the floor. One of the years in the playoffs i do remember him guarding Kobe with energy. Thats all it is too, he doesnt have to be a "great" defender he just needs to bring energy.
The rumor is Love did change his mind. That is a rumor. There is also the "rumor" that James communicated to Love that he wanted to play with him. And there is also the "rumor" that the Cavs have thrown Wiggins in the deal. Now you tell me.....Wiggins/Tristan Thompson and trash....does that get Minnesota to the playoffs next year and help them retain Rubio or not? Teams (like Minny) are starting to see the light of day about the lottery. At the end of the day it is a crap shoot. Minnesota is not a market that can attract free agents. So....they've got to do things differently. They've got to maximize their trade values and get as many long-term pieces in place as possible to build a winner. Just like Utah. And the problem with losing and going to the lottery constantly is even if you are the worst team in the league, you've only got a 1 in 4 chance of winning the silly drawing followed by around a 50-60% chance of that player winding up as a superstar. I'm pretty sure Minnesota and Glen Taylor and Flip Saunders have set their course not to keep going that route. They are going to try to flip Love (and maybe even Rubio if necessary) for both talent and draft picks that they can continue to churn until they find their star players that they can get dialed in for 4-5 seasons. Minnesota is trying to make the playoffs next season...not go to the lottery.
