Morey is trying to get a third star and keep Parsons too. It will be great if it works out. Even if his plan doesn't work out perfectly, so we get a third star. We should still be able to add some quality players to our bench and still keep Parsons.

I really don't want a GM who plays it safe all the time.

we have dwight, harden. im happy enough. we should use parsons 15 mil and fill in the gaps and have decent backups. for me, the price is too high to match.

Simple. If Bosh doesn't sign, let Parsons walk. Trade Lin.

You will still have plenty of caproom to sign about 3 really effective players that could help this team.

It's simple: if Morey didn't do this, you assume Parsons is gone after a year. (You don't want to gamble on what people will do, right?) Morey didn't want Parsons to be gone after one year. This way gives the Rockets the option to keep him. It's really that simple.

Parson = $2.8mil of any other player. Because that's how much cap room the Rockets gain by not matching.

Hmmm, why hasn't NO cleared cap room for Asik yet?

Fegan helps one client (Parsons) while possibly hurting another client (Dwight). Did they think of that?

Without Bosh signing within that narrow window, I don't think we match Parsons' new contract. Morey does not overpay for non-stars. We just bite the bullet. Sorry, Dwight. Complain to your agent.

I've been told that Morey did not have a done deal for Lin and was still talking to several teams. Remained confident he can make the moves.

at this point I'm thinking we match parsons and sit tight.

Move Asik and/or Lin in a trade at a later time for a PF or worst case we play it out with the same group. Worst things could happen. The team as constructed was 4th in the west. Should be better with Asik having a better attitude all season.

Scratch that. Just saw Lebron leaving Mia. let the scrambling begin

Can we make room if we don't resign Parsons?

    well said.
Also, courting all those hot girls at the same time usually ends up empty-handed.

At this point, it's gonna be even costlier to trade Lin. If I were a GM counter to Morey on this, I know he's desperate to move Lin to clear for bosh. Desperation = more you can get out of houston
