you only pay this is we get bosh, no bosh, no match. Matching this without Bosh makes it basically impossible to win.

Coming from a Gators and Rockets fan, no way would I match. I would make Cuban eat that contract.

Cuban does not care whether Rockets match it or not.

If the Rockets match that crazy contract, he will be happy to have screwed the Rockets while draining Les's wallet. Based on the players already on the Mavericks, Parsons, as a player, is not that important to him.

If the Rockets do not match it, he is perfectly fine overpaying for Parsons just to screw the Rockets.

    Evil genius at work.

    Muwahahahahahahaha

Thing is resigning Parsons would hurt the bench badly and overall team badley if we got Bosh.

Like we wouldn't have enough to sign veteran minimum players, only league minimum players as back ups. No 15 man roster for us, just a 12 or 13 one. Anyody gets injured? No signings no d-league call ups. Wouldn't be aloud to resign Beverley or anybody else who expires and wants a deal.

Now if we were to let Parsons walk and sign someone like tucker to MLE, we'd be much better of, financially and talent wise.

If you don't match Parsons' sheet, next season is a waste.

Hell to the no at Beverley and especially TJones being as valuable as Parsons.

    Yup.
Mavs pushed us into a whole. We either waste next year, or we waste the next three years.

Only positives out of any of this are that 1. It is a 3 year deal and 2. It is potentially a 2 year deal. A 4 year deal would have made this pretty much a wrap in my eyes.

morey doesn't do player options and he certainly won't sign anything with a trade kicker (the contract he signed supposedly has one). This dude is gone. We'll have to find our 16/5/4 guy with shoddy perimeter D someplace else.

The spurs most expensive player is Parker at 12 million.

    Crazy! money.

Obviously as a fan if we sign Bosh and its only a luxury tax issue, keep him and have has Les pick up the bill.

Can't see keeping him if it means limiting our cap room however.

    Conclusion:

I think he is Gonzo either way. Wish we would have kept him for one more year!

Then we have a massive hole at SF with no one to put there, we'd be worse off than we were last year.

    Not true.

We could let Parsons walk. Sign Bosh to the max, and spend our full MLE and BAE on SF's to replace Parsons.

    Example

Tucker for MLE Hamilton for BAE and Garcia for veteran minimum at the small forward spot for almost half of what Parsons would cost.

It's a 2 year deal basically. 34-35m for 5 years worth of work.

Excuse me, we would have to S&T for Bosh on a max deal.

I will tell you who will be pissed off if Rockets do not match.

    Dwight Howard.

He did not pick this team and its roster a year ago to see the players leave.

If you don't keep him you are basically giving up on next season in any plausible scenario.

Makes absolutely no sense to let him walk

Like I said, massive black hole at the SF spot.
