I think Deng would be a great target for Houston if Chandler becomes unattainable but I also like this as a strategy for Houston to put pressure on Parson's agent that just because some idiots offered that Utah kid the max, doesn't mean that the Rockets are going to match the same type of contract - we have options!
eh...might be borderline star in the right system. Plays tenacious defense, has length, not the best outside shooter but reliable, can drive, pass well, etc. My biggest fear with him is that he's been run into the ground by Thibs, and his production may start to drop sooner rather than later. He's supposed to be a great locker room presence, which helps.
now so will everyone else. you'll have half the city getting a contact high. they all just want to be close to you cyberx.
Since the Rockets tried to get an agreement with Parsons today, this contact with Deng makes a lot more sense..hope we don't match and welcome Deng!
To be honest, I'd rather have Deng at $10m per season than Parsons at $15m. Instantly a better defensive team, barely a worse defensive team. Deng will remain productive throughout our 3-ish year window. Problem is it eats into our big advantage of being able to re-sign Parsons even if over the cap.
Deng is just to replace Parsons, just in case we don't get Bosh. We ain't matching that DAL offer sheet.
So Parsons will be paid the same as Harden? good luck, Dallas I have to say, Parsons had to get paid this year, thus the risk of letting him go the RFA route. I don't think Parsons would play with the same effort next season if he was still getting less than $1M. Probably a promise Morey made him.
Deng has history with asst coach Chris Finch on the British national team. It might make him consider us seriously.
Parsons will be making $5 more per year than dirk. Wow. Talk about being overpaid. Can't see how dirk will be happy with this.
