What if we traded Lin for a real pelican ?

We can put a ball in its mouth and see if mo Williams can snatch it

76'ers summer league team about to come on, if this trade is real then it would probably happen after the game.

has anyone ever force-fed a pelican a "poison pill" just to see what would happen? Like the alka seltzer seagull thing?

Btw, the insider came back and said the trade would be

Lin, Pelicans 1st and a future second for McDaniels and Grant.

I'd still be down for the trade.

It would basically be Asik, Lin and a future second for cap space and the 32nd and 39th pick in the 2014 draft. Solid move. S&T for Bosh, re-sign Parsons, Daniels and use MLE.

It would have to be a 4 team deal if we were to get Bosh in a S&T with Philly, New Orleans, Miami, and us.

maybe i'm crazy, but i just can't countenance having to give up the same type of pick that was the heart of the Harden trade just to move Jeremy Lin off our books a year early.

No favors from Hinkie. I don't get why the other GMs are complaining.

You wanna be stuck with Lin for another year?

And not only stuck with him, but unable to use that cap space on a (much) better player? (fingers crossed)

It's worth it. McDaniels is ready to play now and would immediately become the best perimeter defender on the team.

obviously not. i'm just saying ...i can't believe our 1st next year wouldn't get it done. Surely Philly is not the only team willing to take Lin for a 1st rounder.

I think McDaniels (uh, the 32nd pick guy) would be a good get. I was watching the Philly 2nd rounders on draft night with interest: "I wonder if he's being drafted for us?" Etc.

The difference being that Hinkie knows we're over the eight-ball. If we don't trade Lin, we don't get jack-squat. I'd yield a 1st rounder that'll probably be in the #12 range for Chris Bosh (and many lesser free agents, JUST to get us out of this overpaying-a-PG-and-his-groupies sideshow).

Don't think of it that way.

Think of it as Asik and Lin and a future second for cap space and the 32nd and 39th pick in a loaded 2014 draft.

^ That's a great trade, most thought we'd have to give up assets to move Lin and Asik but we really end up with some nice 2nd round draft picks in exchange for a future late second (in a not so loaded draft).

It will be interesting to see how Morey builds a bench but Nick Johnson and McDaniels would be a hell of start. TJones and DMO likely gone. We can resign Troy Daniels with bird rights. So right now we would have:

    Bev/N. Johnson
    Harden/Troy Daniels
    Parsons/McDaniels
    Bosh/?
    Dwight/?

    Maybe Jordan Hill and Capela?

sounds like Charlie Casserly math to me. I do feel better looking at it that way, but if the Asik deal was as reported, i like that much better :) then moving Lin for our 1st next year. Obviously beggars cant be choosers, but damn, that sure is a high draft pick just to move a 1-yr contract. Maybe Dennis Lindsey want's in?
