This makes it much more necessary to go after Love, who has a much smaller max than Bosh.

I think we can handle $67 million committed to Harden, Parsons, Love, and Howard. We can't do $72 million to Harden, Parsons, Bosh, and Howard.

You are crazy if you don't think the Rockets have gone after Love.

Read the stories from Woj and Amick. Flip is in no rush to trade Love and probably doesn't want to at all.

It's hard to decide what is worse about Herrera; the troll threads or the gay puns.

Welp, Morey, should have opted into a year 4 contract unless you've got a gentlemen's agreement in place that he'll accept that original 4th year bundled into a new & bigger contract

Hopefully more like 4 years 55 cuz that figure is absolutely par

If Parsons asks for a player option in the new contract, will Morey give in?

Morey has a good track record - drafting, free agency, trades, you name it.

Have some faith that the Rockets are doing everything they can to make the best possible move. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. That's it.

Stop whining and stop being so emo.

Could anyone educate me again why we didn't pick up Parsons's 4th year option again?

I always thought declining the options makes no sense money-wise for the team, since the cost savings by matching RFA offers over 4 years is highly unlikely to offset Parsons' 1-year salary at the market rate. Except for those living in stone ages, most of us understood all along he is going to get $10M+/year and probably quite close to the Max.

The fear that we would lose him as URFA in 2015 never made any sense to me at all. Who walks away from your home team that can offer you the most money, no state tax and a starting role on a championship roster?

Many posters have predicted we would make him a RFA, and surprisingly they turned out right. The only circumstance this would make sense is that some mutual understanding (if we don't call it a 'deal') under the table was already in place.

Teams like Charlotte have to overpay to get free agents. Thay being said...parsons should and will get the max. He has big endorsement potential.

I'm sure they have, and will if they miss on Bosh.

I'm also sure that Love will be traded. Let's not be rediculous.

Isn't that exactly what we're hoping Bosh does? Isn't that what it's looking more and more like Lebron is going to do?

15Mil for Hayward is crazy, but it's probably what it takes to get him out from Utah. I am not sure if Morey will match it if Parson was offered max from another team. Chance of either case happening is low.

Here's the real deal. Cavs unloads salary to clear cap room. That suggests LeBron is heading to Cavs. And that means Bosh is heading to Rox.

As @ESPNSteinLine reports, Cavs unload Jack/Zeller/Karasev in 3-way. So what happens if Parsons is offered a max? Let him walk?

I think we match, reluctantly, unless a sign and trade offer from the team offering the max makes sense. Then we move forward hoping the salary cap increases in 2016 and/or the new CBA and possible lockout result in something more favorable.

There's a storm brewing... players want more money and the NBA is worth more.
