I'd like to say that no, they won't...but they probably will. It's in our nature despite the record of it not working very well. We are good at the counter. If Altidore is fit and confident enough to sprint and Dempsey is a little more withdrawn into the midfield, it will be easier to move forward as a unit. That is what we were missing when he went out against Ghana and in the other 2 games. There was too large of a gap between the midfield and Dempsey. Jones was trying to fill it against Germany, but that is not his position.

My stomach is already in knots. It's going to be a long 6 hours. Still trying to decide between bar or friends house. I can't watch the game with the uneducated. I appreciate their new found passion, but I can't stand answering questions all game long or hearing them complain about things that make no sense to complain about. My wife is in that group and she knows it. She knows it's better for everyone if I watch elsewhere.

See I view it differently. Belgium is the favorite here. If the US wins, it's a nice bonus. If not, they still had a pretty good world cup, given the in-going expectations. So I'm not anxious at all.

Why take Johannsson and Wondo instead of Donovan and Boyd when you rarely use them? Or at all.

Because then we'd rarely use Donovan and Boyd, if at all.

It was a terrible decision not to take LD, as he controls the midfield and settles things down.

That being said....I think JK was playing for the next generation of players...with Green, Mix, and Johanssen.

And Davis and Wondo were sort of "Finally earned it" players.

Yup. I miss those real strikers on teams at this WC. Most of the goals come from offensive midfielders, wingers or Thomas Mueller.

Same here i'm a rockets and texans season ticket holder but the USMNT > all....them just getting to the semis would be a greater sports fan experience for me than a Texans and Rockets championship in the same year.

I'm a nervous wreck today, and part of it is because this game is a winnable game. If we were playing a tested and true tournament team (Germany/Brazil type), i'd be less nervous.

Vermaelen out and possibly Kompany as well. If they have some communication problems on that back line the US needs to take advantage of that and slot some passes in. Bradley will have to get back to what we expect from him and he would be the perfect man for the job.

I hate all this "I believe" crap. It sounds like we don't belong and have to rely upon some fairy tale style magical belief for us to win.
