Why not. So what's your number that Morey will not match?

Sign Melo and then match anything for Parsons.

You're over the cap so now use the MLE for Ariza, Sefolosha, etc.

Yep going to be in luxury cap hell in couple of years but think about this lineup.

    Bev/Nelson/Cannan
    Harden/Daniels
    Parsons/Sefolsha
    Melo/Jones
    Howard/Okafor/DMo

That's a good 3-5 years of title contenders

So if the Rockets match an offer of 11mil and up, you(or rather your username) will leave the board. Same with me if the opposite happen. If Morey does not match an offer of an offer above that amount, meh will leave clutchfans.

Another possibility is that the Rockets simply offer Parsons a contract. Similar to what they did to Scola. Would you be willing to concede my win if the Rockets simply offer Parsons a contract at over $11mil/yr without any other bidding?

Also, I'm guessing you're referring to average salary, rather than starting salary, am I correct?

If you agree to the above, then nothing happens if

    1. Parsons is S&Ted for any amount of money
    2. Parsons receive an offer of <$11mil which both of us agree the
    Rockets will match.

    Sounds good with you?

Edit: I use average salary vs. starting salary because there is a chance, albeit small one, that the Rockets sign him to a decreasing contract. This makes things simpler to use average salary.

4-5 year contract between 8-10 million a year.

Think the Cavs are going to be the ones you guys have to watch out for with Parsons, they seem to really like him and are expected to offer him at mid-night.

So, what's the point of this bet? Do you guys hate each other that much that you'd put your membership on the line to get rid of the other? Why not different stakes?

They could do a tip jar bet, but honestly cheke never posting again would be the biggest contribution he could make.

It'd be pretty hard to just completely drop the habit of logging on to clutchfans.net! I mean I've only been reading the forum for about 2 years (btw not because of the "bandwagon or LOF", but because I was young and didn't know what forums were) and it'd be a struggle to stay away....especially NOW!

P.S Any other young clutchfans out there that missed out on the Hakeem era and had the great Steve Francis as your childhood hero!!

@WojYahooNBA: Dallas calls on RFA Chandler Parsons, and make no mistake: If Mavs miss on 'Melo, they'll be aggressive in pursuit of Parsons, sources say.

Minnesota, I'm told, also continues to monitor Parsons should Rockets decide to make trade run at Kevin Love. Melo has been HOU focus so far

Well, I didn't ask for this bet. If you go back and read the progression, I simply agreed with another person willing to take this risk because I truly believe that Morey will match everything except S&T possibilites. I didn't actually think cheke64 would actually go so far to propose it. Maybe I rubbed him the wrong way in some other threads. I can be an ass on this board, so maybe he doesn't like me.

But I feel so confident in this that at least in my mind, there's no chance I'll lose. Perhaps I am wrong though.

And yes, if he wants to make this a tipjar bet, I'm all for it.

Cuban hates us. He wants to hurt us. He knows Morey will match any offer. This sucks.

Interesting. I get the feeling there was more interest for Parsons than we all thought...
