Im going to miss watchin Asik play for the Rockets. One of the best center ive seen at contesting shots and thought the tt couldve been something if the pace were to be slowed down. Hopefully this pays off for the Rockets in the end.

Lol... well something Creative must be happening. If I remember correctly matching salary can be 125%? So they could send us around 6.64 million? Who would you want from No anyway? not that it matters that much? but that player might be incline to resign with us.

Once Philly picks 10th in 2014 draft tomorrow their obligation is met and can then trade future picks. July 10th is important because the Pels will be below cap and can include non- guaranteed deals to get near Asik's salary. The timing and non-guaranteed deals should keep sign and trade options open to flip some of these contracts or picks in multi- team trades. Beautiful

If Melo wants the max possible deal (which it's been stated he does, and might mean his 5 year one) then we might have to. If Lebron only wants to come here if Melo does, Harden is gone.

Rox are an injury to AD away from getting a high lottery pick.
Morey creates cap space to sign marquee free agent + gets a first round pick?
    Genius!

If Lebron chooses to stay with Miami we could still try to sign Melo, and then do a S&T for Love. If we could get Love by giving up Lin, Parsons, two first rounders that would give us this starting lineup:

    Bev
    Harden
    Melo
    Love
    Dwight

Is this doable? Or not enough cap space?

Thanks for the explanation. The rule clearly said they can't owe a first round pick in consecutive seasons, so that does not include past seasons so after the 2014 draft the 2015 pick can be traded as long as the 2016 pick is still there.

Now to figure out how New Orleans is going to make this work under the cap...

wow 4-19, didnt think it was going to be that low, I retract my statement on this being a bad trade for houston. I agree with other posters this wont be our pick for long

For those of you wondering about losing the full MLE, that's correct, but once we trade Lin (probably gonna cost us the #25 and money) we'll have two big trade exceptions. We'll have first and second rounders and players like Dmo and Tjones to take on players from teams wanting to shed salary.

We don't have large enough contracts to trade to make it work. Would have to move harden.

I wonder what the Spur fanbase reaction would be to getting back a potential 4-19 pick in next year's draft in a trade?
