The Rockets are in a position to acquire another top ten player. As much as I dislike LeBron, his flirting with free agency absolutely vindicates Morey's decision to not kill his cap room for role players who probably wouldn't have been enough to get the Rockets over the hump, anyway.

Lin, Harden, # 25 for Melo, Shumpert maybe a pick or another player?

    Bev/Cannan
    Shumpert/Daniels
    Melo/Parsons
    Lebron/Jones
    Howard/DMo

Do we get the MLE in this scenario?

my thoughts exactly. Howard matched up against them? Jesus, they're a juggernaut defensively now.

Idk man it seems pretty good to me. With how stacked the West is, I really don't think NO will make the playoffs. A lottery pick for Asik is a significant haul, especially if what's being discussed is true (first round pick in consecutive years).

So could the NOLA 1st round pick be an asset the Rockets use for a Kevin Love trade?

It's the opposite. Sign and trade options are wide open. The trade will not be consummated until the end of the July moratorium.

    Freak is right.

The rockets (Morey) may be worse gamblers than Jordan was at the pinnacle of his addiction.

If we strike out with a big time free agent how about z-Bo instead of Lowry.

I don't know. Holiday is pretty good and an Asik-Davis frontcourt is very hard to score on. I'd say they're better than Dallas. The West is heavily stacked though.

I hear you, but....What is the likelihood of both staying healthy?

I don't think Harden for Melo is a good swap. Perhaps the Rockets think LeBron would be more receptive to signing if Melo is on the team?

If dumping Lin and Asik gets the rockets to 19 million cap space, dumping just Asik should have then near 11 million. If Lowry's looking for at least $12 million on a long term deal is that what you want to be locked in at? Regardless of what number he would sign at, probably means losing Lin and Bev both in the summer.

Can you guys please stop talking about trading Harden? This is why I hate Broussard, he actually has a soapbox to spew his bull****.

The Rockets are NOT trading Harden.. cmon

If the Rockets trade Asik for cap space first, I believe we lose our MLE. I believe the Asik trade to NO would have to be incorporated into this one. Although I don't think it matters since we will not be trading Harden.
