Finally someone speaking the truth. I agree with everything here.

Likely he stays (all 3 take a bigger paycut than they did the first time and bring in a guy like Lowry), but if he does leave, there's not a better place for him than Houston.

What's the last day LeBron can decide whether he wants to opt-in or not??

Sports News Reporter in Miami reports that the Knicks & Cavs have spoken about a sign & trade that sends Melo to Cleveland for the #1 pick.
    — NBA Legion (@MySportsLegion) June 20, 2014

don't know how legit this is, but what is tells me is that

    1) lebron is going back to cleveland and they will try to sign him outright. and
    2) they will then do sign and trade from melo with their #1 pick with nyc.

    irving, melo, lebron...

question is, does cleveland have cap room to sign lebron outright?

I just don't see Wade taking the cut.
    HE doesn't FEEL HE SHOULD

I think it will be quite the salesman job for LeBron to convince him

Even if Cleveland were to sign Lebron I don't think Mello would agree to be traded there. I don't think Mello wants to hear his wife everyday telling him how boring Cleveland is

    Well...****...

I've shot down every scenario on why LeBron wouldn't go to POR, GS, and LAC....

But man if they can pull that off I think they can out-bid us....

if lebron is there, melo will be there if new york agrees to the trade. and as new york, you'd be stupid NOT to make the trade for the #1 pick.

You do realize Lowry is asking for a 10 million dollar contract right?

I think Melo has to agree to the trade first before NY can do that. Don't see him wanting to play in Cleveland. Unless him and LeBron have decided to do this.

LBJ is not gonna waste 3 years under McHale, just because the talent of the team were the best he ever had. Also, as Spurs showed, the big-3 mode is overrated. If he were to come, both Harden and McHale have to go.

Can someone please break down how this doesn't work for Lebron, Melo, the Cavs, or the Knicks? Cause it looks pretty good for all parties from what I can see.

if the rumor is true that there's talk between nyc and cleveland (and the rumor coming from miami of all places), then the most logical conclusion is that both melo and lebron have agreed to go to cleveland and new york is trying to get something back for melo.

there is no reason for melo to want to go to cleveland if he doesn't think lebron will be there.

the only question remaining is - can cleveland sign either lebron or melo outright? whoever they sign outright, they will then sign and trade their #1 for the other.

Why does everyone act like Spurs don't have a big three?

One of the best PF and PG + [ginobli, kawhi etc].

Big 3 is overrated because they didn't win the championship 400 times? Going to the finals 4 times + winning 2 of those is overrated?

Quick research into the source of this rumor and he doesn't look too credible.

That would be a truly truly unfortunate outcome for the Rockets.
