The best place for Lebron is the Clippers. He would have a point guard that can set up the plays and get him the ball where he wants it and probably the second most athletic player in the league next to him keeping the defenses honest. Plus, the team has the league leader in rebounds in Deandre Jordan, the sixth man of the year in Jamal Crawford when Lebron needs a blow, and a whole slew of role players in Big Baby, JJ Redick, and Matt Barnes. With Lebron, the Clippers would have arguably 3 of the top 5 players in the league but definitely 3 of the top 10 and there is no other team, well, maybe the Thunder, that could offer that minus the big market. CP3, Lebron, and Blake Griffin would be a force and would dominate the Western Conference like it's the Eastern Conference. Additionally, he would get to play in a big market where he can start working on his most basketball career. All he needs to do is sign for a mid level exception and maybe have some backdoor deal with Steve Ballmer that promises him shares in side ventures that he has all over LA. Maybe Lebron can be a "business partner" in Ballmers Kings/Staples Center purchase or something.
Other than LBJ signing for the vet minimum, how would this be possible under the current CBA & Salary Cap rules?
Probably Miami. Sure they're getting destroyed by the Spurs, but how do you walk away from a team that's made the Finals in 4 consecutive seasons? And it's not like there's some up and coming team in the East that LeBron has to fear. The Pacers are dysfunctional, Brooklyn mortgaged their entire future to win now and got smoked by the Heat, the Wizards are good but not great, and the Bulls are too unpredictable with Rose's health. If LeBron wants to get paid and be on a team that can contend for a title, the Heat are the obvious choice.
Yeah, Lebron should sign for Vet Minimum to play for the Clippers. With the CBA, the NBA is forcing star players to play for peanuts anyway with the CBA. Ballmer should be able to find some loopholes to allow side deals where Lebron can be the face of a new venture he starts. The next time the players and owners meet, the players better work out a better deal. The current deal is so that small market teams can compete, but it is not fair to the players. If the small market teams don't like it, then maybe they can sell their team or move to a real market where they can compete. For example, the Bay Area could use another NBA team, Chicago could use a second team, San Diego could use a team, LA/Orange County could use a team, New York could use another team in the Queens area, etc...
Why is Dallas even an option? Why would Lebron want to go to the team that embarrassed him on the biggest stage?
You've gotta imagine, if he opts out, that Houston is the best place for him to win a title. I believe if he leaves Miami, he will go to a Western conference team. Going to the Clippers would be ideal, but they wouldn't deal Blake just because they'd want him to be with CP3 and LeBron. He wouldn't go to San Antone, it'd salvage his image again. His best option is Houston because we have a star shooting guard who is young. He and Dwight would be the best defensive post duo in the league. Then Parsons becomes our wildcard AND we can still add more talent because we have the MLE and Bi Annual.. Vets would flock to H-Town. Folks we'd would win multiple championships..
D. Wade will take less money and come off the bench. Starting 5: Chalmers Stephenson James Beasley P. Gasol
mods, please change the thread title-- Where will Lebron "run to" next year really sad this is what the kids of today have to look upto as a champion. mr. billion dollar athlete. mr not 3 not 4 not 5.
The fact we're even speculating which bandwagon Lebron will hop on next says a lot about Lebron James
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I'll believe LeBron leaves Miami when someone tells me where there's a better chance to rebuild than Pat Riley recruiting guys to Miami.</p>— Kurt Helin (@basketballtalk) <a href="https://twitter.com/basketballtalk/statuses/478364060296036353">June 16, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I highly doubt D-Wade opts out because its unlikely any team will pay him the ~$20M hes due by the Miami Heat next year. Plus, I think he'd like to spend his entire career on one team at this point.
Other -- LeBron will announce that he is retiring to play for the Quad-City River Bandits in the Class A Midwest League of Minor League Baseball
According to multiple reports, LeBron’s two kids, Bryce Maximus and LeBron Jr., will be attending local public schooling next year in Bath Township, Ohio, where LeBron’s Akron mansion is located. LeBron already stated that he plans on having his kids attend St. Vincent St. Mary’s, his alma mater, in Akron for high school. With the anticipation in Cleveland of LeBron returning with the Cavaliers, this will obviously spark some intrigue and interest more so. Even if LeBron is just doing this so his kids can attend his high school which he is extremely familiar with, many will believe it will be a response to possibly reuniting with the team the drafted him back in 2003. Personally, it could be a sign of things to come. But the fact of the matter is that he already has a huge home in Akron, and he loves SVSM. He has invested over $2 million in renovations for the high school, and he was obviously very successful there, and they helped put him on the map (in addition to his God-given talents). He would never send his kids to a high school in Miami in an unfamiliar area, but rather send them to his alma mater. This may not be a sign that LeBron is coming back to Cleveland. But boy does it look like one. If anything it makes July 1st a lot more exciting. With the 2014 draft being 5 days earlier, with the anticipation of the Cavs offering a max contract to Kyrie, as well trying to lure LeBron back to Cleveland, this summer will be very interesting and exciting for the Wine & Gold. LeBron will tell you he’s sending his kids to Bath because it’s where his home is. But boy is it a convenient time to send Bryce and LeBron Jr. to Akron schools, when he can opt out of his player option and test the market for free agency. http://www.clesportstalk.net/2014/05/lebrons-kids-will-attend-school-back-home/
