Oscar Robertson (4$) Kobe Bryant (4$) Scottie Pippen (1$) Dirk Nowitzki (2$) Shaquille O'Neal (2$) All around great team (just for 13$) - I have defense, offense, great point-guard.
I'll take Lebron James at the point, Jordan at the two guard, Durant at the small forward, Garnett at the power forward and Hakeem Olajuwon at center. The defense of this lineup would be absolutely devastating with a group of long, fast athletic types who are all-time greats on the offensive end. They are all for the most part sublime passers to boot (Chicago, the best team ever record-wise, made this work with no true point guard). Also, Lebron James can guard point guards. For evidence look at his matchups against Derrick Rose in the past (not only that, but think about the defensive capabilities of the other players on this team... Lebron James is also much better defensively than Johnson could ever have dreamed of being). 1. Lebron James - $5 2. Michael Jordan - $5 3. Kevin Durant - $2 4. Kevin Garnett - $1 5. Hakeem Olajuwon - $1
To me, Hakeem and Duncan are no-brainers. Both are arguably the top guys on their lists at discount prices. The other positions have more consensus #1 types (Magic at the 1, Jordan at the 2, Lebron/Bird at the 3). I ended up with: Dream Duncan Dr J Jordan Zeke Just a filthy, filthy defensive lineup.
Stockton $2 (Assist Machine) Jordan $5 (Scoring Machine) Durant $2 (Scoring Machine) Barkley $4 (Somebody has to rebound) Olajuwan $1 (The Dream) $14
PG:ISIAH THOMAS-$3 SG:MICHAEL JORDAN -$5 SF:LEBRON JAMES -$5 PF:KEVIN GARNETT-$1 C:HAKEEM OLAJUWON-$1
This list is totally invalidated by Olajuwon's $1. I Would like to see your lists where Olajuwon is $5. Now that would be interesting. It's like Jordan or Lebron would cost $1...
Dream is criminally undervalued. My five: Magic - $5 - Physical freak, playmaker, winner, leader, clutch. Drexler - $2 - Need value here and Drexler can run with Magic. Defense is not a terrible concern with the frontline waiting at the rim. Bird - $4 - Leader, winner, clutch, great passer, great shooter, all-around excellence and one of the best in history at psyching people out. Garnett -$1 - Excellent defender, can run with the others, long in the lanes. Dream - $1 - Come on. There is nobody on the list that he can't defend and nobody on the list that can defend him. Plus, we're running. Plus, clutch. The problem with Duncan in these scenarios is that offensively, he is pretty much a post player and all the centers are better at it than he is. The problem with the SGs is that it is either Jordan or Drexler. Not sure any of the others would fit and not wild about grabbing West at $3. Kobe would be a team killer and Wade doesn't cut it. Jordan's an ass and if, like me, you prefer a Magic/Dream type of leadership, he does not fit. I could go LBJ over Bird, but I want to see Bird's psychological warfare supporting my team rather than experience it coming at me.
Magic - Locked Jordan - Locked Durant - Prefer Lebron but I'm satisfied with Durant Dirk - Really want Duncan but don't have enough money Hakeem - Not a lock but I like him and he's cheap Damn this is hard.. ___________ Edit: I'm going to swap MJ (even though I said he was a lock) for Kobe so that I can get Duncan. Sacrificing GOAT for a more well balanced off/def team. Needed more defense and another elite post player since Durant doesn't play post. Dirk was also kind of repetitive with Durant. New Lineup: Magic Kobe Durant Duncan Hakeem
This is the correct answer: PG: John Stockton $2 SG: Michael Jordan $5 SF: Larry Bird $4 PF: Tim Duncan $3 C: Hakeem Olajuwon $1 Total: $15
