Hell No. Omer is worth a lot more than that.

Add a 1st round and 2nd round pick to the Knicks...

NYK: Gives them a big change which is what they need. If they can't keep Carmelo, that's not a bad haul. Strengthens the roster quite a bit. Brings back Lin for 1 year to see if just somehow, someway... and unloads Felton. They have no picks this year so our 1st and 2nd will give them something to talk about.

Timberwolves: That is a excellent haul for someone else who is on the fence on staying.

Rockets: 3 stars. Sign the best FA SG you can and I think we stand a much better chance at a ring.

I don't know...have you seen George Hill lately. Looks like he lost his confidence. If it was straight up I'd do it

Thanks for the good read! I can definitely see this being the way Morey frees up the necessary cap space for Melo
My pie in the sky never going to happen offseason wish is for them to free up the cap space and use it to sign dirk and ariza. After that they could use the MLE to sign a back up pg and c.

    Beverly/?/Cannan
    Harden/Daniels
    Parsons/Ariza
    Dirk/Jones
    Howard/?/DMO

    Two part trade scenario:

    Part One:
    Houston Recieves: Rondo, Jeff Green
Celtics Recieve: Asik, Parsons (on new rfa contract), Dmo, Beverly, 2016 first round pick (unprotected)

    Part Two:
    Houston Recieves: Carmello
Knicks Recieve: Lin, Jeff Green, Jones, 2014 first round pick

I've looked into the salaries and it works from a salary cap standpoint.

Quick analysis of why each team accepts the trade:

Houston: During this playoff series we struggled to find offensive rhythm when the opposing team focused on Harden. By adding Rajon Rondo and Carmello, Rondo can set the pace of the offense and melo will add much needed secondary scoring behind H&H. From this trade the Houston rockets can now use thier MLE (approxiamtely 5 mil)and BAE (approximately 2.5 mil) to sign rotational players at the 3 and 4 positions that play defense. Melo can slide between 3 & 4 according to matchups.

Boston: The Boston Celtics have stated that they want to move Sullinger to his natural position at 4, paving the way to acquire a starting caliber center. Asik fits that mold and while his contract is large next year, Ainge will be able to talk extension with asik all year. Parsons replaces jeff green in at the 3 position which on paper would be a fairly equal swap. However, Pasons is a better passer and better driving small forward than Green and he also takes more efficient shots. By moving out of the Rondo era, Boston can reload with draft picks and solid developmental players.

New York: This trade can only happen if Melo wants out of the big apple. This trade happens due to the rockets giving up draft picks this year and giving out expiring deals (lin). Green could be the tipping point in this trade as the Knicks may want to shed all contracts by next year. However, They will still have enough money to sign a max player next offseason and have cap room available so unless they are going for 2 max contracts next offseason, this still makes sense from a flexibility standpoint.

Next Years Houston Rockets starting five:

    PG: Rondo
    SG: Harden
    SF: Hamilton
    PF: Melo
    C: Howard

Was going to start a new thread about possible destinations for Lin but this seems be the thread for that very purpose. So here is my own 2 part trade idea:

    Step 1: Asik+TJ+1st Round Pick (25) Atlanta for Milsap+1st Round Pick (15)

Why Atlanta does it: Omer allows them to move Horford to the 4. Kind of like Portland with Robin Lopez, that provides a lot of value and getting a guy the age and quality of Asik should be very appealing with Horford in the fold. Milsap is outplaying his contract a year in and will likely fetch a big contract after next season with another year like this one. Does it make sense to pay a guy who is preventing your star from playing his natural position a ton of cash? With Omer the salary is high for a proper center but the cap hit is almost frugal. TJ provides depth in the form a young guy with upside who has already gotten som NBA seasoning. Dropping down in the draft might be a hold up, but if the trade is viewed as essentially TJ for 15th pick, what are they going to get that nets them a proven big who avaerages near a double double at that spot? Our pick mitigates even the argument that they are gioving too much up.

Why Houston does it: We all know why we would do it. The pick is crucial to step two though so read on...

Step 2: Lin+ 1st Rounder (15) to Charlotte for Geral Henderson + First Rounder (24)

Why Charlotte does it: On the heels of a playoff birth and to add to the excitemetn fo the return f the hornets they get a marquee name. Lin provides an offensive guy to a team without many option on that side of the court. Given their salary situation, they can afford to pay his salary and the cap hit isnt at all damaging for them. On top of it all, Charlotte moves up from the bottom of the first round into the middle. Just seems like a good match.

Why Houston does it: We cannot tie the amount of cap space Lin takes up in a player of his caliber and fit. Henderson provides depth on the wings and a defensive guy who, while not a 3 & D type, is decent offensively. If henderson played 25 minutes a game it would give Harden and Parsons each a quarter of rest without the likes of Jordan Hamilton having to get major minutes.

So, in essence, we parlay Asik and Lin into better complimentary pieces and mvoe up a spot in the draft.

    Beverly/Canaan/Elfrid Payton (pick 24)
    Harden/Henderson/Daniels
    Parsons/Henderson/Harden
    Milsap/Donuts
    Howard/Patric Young (pick 42)

Jordan Hamilton is an unrestricted free agent. Doubt he comes back.. sign PPatt to full MLE and that would be a perfect plan.

Asik/23rd pick for Philly 10th pick in the 2014 Draft

I love it, with the 10th pick, we can get quality. Philly will never get as good of a player as Asik with the 10th pick.

Why not consider this 3 team trade?

    Denver gets Lin and Parsons
    Atlanta gets Asik and D-Mo
Houston gets Millsap, Nate Robinson, and Gallo.

Millsap provides our biggest need which is a stretch four that can defend. He's got a quick trigger which will help our midrange game a ton. Robinson would be a massive upgrade over Lin in my opinion. Robinson is more of an explosive scorer and looks more poised when running the point. Lin at times looks like a chicken running around with his head cut off. Gallo would be a nice 3&D player. Has a better stroke than Parsons and is more of a traditional small forward where Chandler is more of a ball handling forward..

    Rotation
    Bev/Nate/Canaan
    Harden/Troy
    Gallo/FA acquisition/Covington
    Millsap/TJ
    Dwight/FA acquisiton/Camby?

Pierce would be incredible, but I'm pretty sure he'll end up with the Clippers.

I still think Anthony and Felton are going to be Rockets... With Asik, Lin, Jones, mediocre draft picks and filler in NYC.
