It's not an issue to be considered at the corporate level.

It's an issue of national propaganda and global propaganda. And that is why property rights of this guy, Donald, weights almost nada.

What i dont understand is how someone can sit up and ponder hypotheticals while questioning what's right in front of them

You know good and well the guy needs to go. He doesn't give 10 craps about the NBA or the Clippers and he used them as a tax write off for who knows how many years.

He's been nothing but what they don't need in the NBA. Touching on players, inviting people into showers, not paying hotel bills, not paying players, screaming obscenities at players on the court, doing the bare minimum so he can take advantage of the revenue sharing, and probably a host of things to company employees who nobody is hearing from.

Dead or alive what will his mark on the game of basketball be besides being a racist owner who thinks he owns people and buy them toys and shelter, and could care less if they came to his games? The whole black history month debacle is so much more clear, and his wife is just as bad. She jumps from one side of the block to the other depending on the temperature of the wind.

It's not just having money. Otherwise every despot and foriegn gangster could purchase a pro team. You have to be approved by the majority of owners. And I don't think Andre Romelle Young gets past this incident.

But it's just business. Once upon a time a CEO could get forced out for hiring a black man. Then, there was a time not that long ago even that someone could be forced out by their business partners by any suspicion that he hung out with "reds". Now, fast forward to these days, business partners can force someone out for saying stupid racist-sounding things. They can force him out if he insists on wearing Hawaiian shirts too. Or if he farts too much at the board meetings.

So I don't understand the "first step." This is just an iteration in a long, long American line of personal behavior having business consequences in the free market. PC can be annoying, but it's a lot less virulent and strident than the red scare was or old school hang people racism. It's culture continuing to change and there's not a darn thing any of us can do to change a whole culture, to avert its momentum.

Now, if the evil government went after Sterling and "took his team" against the will of other NBA owners, or something, we would have a milestone. If an angry PC socialist mob took over the team, against the will of other NBA owners, we would definitely have a milestone.

But this is like firing someone after they get too many DUI's or get caught with too many hookers, etc. Something that ends up very bad for business. Businesses get rid of people when those people are bad for business (except in government and at universities.)

Off topic. Is it just me or Silver really looks creepy? This guy can make a living playing creepy characters on movies.

Seems to me that they are picking and choosing where to apply those rules.

Michael Jordan "Im against all white people" - from his book.

Potential replacement owner - Oprah "Old white people need to die" (to get rid of racism) - On TV.

Shaquille O'Neal "Making fun of disabled people on social media." He got ~14,000 likes for doing it.

What about Barkley's many racist statements over the years .... he stays on TV.

The difference between each of those and Sterling .... Those were said in public forums , not a private conversation that was unknowingly recorded by a gold digger with multiple felony charges who was probably trying to extort Sterling (I should have paid her off - his own words).

Yeah , Sterling is a racist .... and that isn't good for the leagues image , I have no problem with them kicking him to the curb while paying him fair value for his franchise.
I do have a problem with the one side playing with a different set of rules.

why are you making up quotes?

michael jordan said he was against white people because of the racism that he endured growing up in southern north carolina at that time.

Its okay... you can tell when someone is so far out of context that you can smell agenda post.

Its a shame that he even reached that hard.
