http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/1932216 Blazers court Patterson Texans senior vice president Steve Patterson has emerged as a candidate to become president of the Portland Trail Blazers, sources familiar with the Blazers' search said Friday. Patterson, who had been Rockets general manager from 1989 to 1993, did not return phone messages Friday. Patterson, the son of former Rockets executive Ray Patterson, was with the Rockets for nine years before moving to the Aeros, then of the International Hockey League, for three seasons as team president and general manager. He joined Houston NFL Holdings in 1997 to help Houston land an NFL expansion team and has since led the design and construction of Reliant Stadium. -- JONATHAN FEIGEN ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I have met Steve Patterson on one occasion and I can confirm the reports that he is no doubt, a pompus a-hole. However, that being said, the guy must be a sports genius. This guy has helped build in a NBA champion (the Rockets), helped build an NFL franchise from the ground up (the Texans), helped run a succesful minor league hockey franchise that won a Turner Cup (the Aeros) and now he is being courted by the Blazers to help possibley rebuild that team. This news came as a huge suprise to me.
"Blazers" "court" "Patterson" Have to be 3 of the most despised words in the English language right now for Portland fans.
