Harden is alpha and that is definitely true but can you really see him being a Kobe or an MJ? A player with the mental fortitude to completely take over a game? He is so talented; more talented that any other player in that Blazers series, and he has the ability to completely take over. BUT he didn't. Someone please explain to Harden just how damn good he his. He can be the best guard in the league if he so wished, atleast offensively.

Looking three years back, no one would have ever guessed the current rockets situation and roster. Why are you so confident in predicting three years in the future, sports is one of the most unpredictable thing on this planet.

    Bwaahahaha.

Laughing at the posters that all they could do was call the OP and LOF.

There is some truth to what OP says... Harden didn't get the calls in the playoffs and his failure to score efficiently at his usually regular season average was the main reason the Rockets lost.

IT IS WORRYING BECAUSE IT IS NOT SURPRISING TO SEE HARDEN'S INEFFICIENT SCORING (CHUCKING) PROBLEMS.

I just hope teams haven't figured him out... then its all over.

and? Westbrook is 25. He did decent enough against Grizzlies and Clippers today.

Also one thing I notice that Howard Lacks in, is when he gets doubled team, he doesn't find the person who's open to take a shot. He forces it in and gets foul'ed. The only slightly negative thing about that is FT's and A positive side might be that the open guy might shoot well, which would cause problems in double teaming Howard.

Cap situation. Frontload money to Harden, Parsons was a good find, but then his contract situation is going to be a problem.

And Harden was great in game #6 with 34 points on only 15 shots along with 6 assists and 4 rebounds. If you're going to compare then at least do an "apples to apples" comparision:

In his 6 playoff games this season Harden had a FG% of 37.6%, a 3pt% of 29.6 % and turned the ball over 3.5 times per game.

In his first 6 playoff games this season Westbrook had a FG% of 35.5%, a 3pt% of 20% and he turned the ball over 4.5 times per game.

    What does that even mean?

Our cap situation is great. What other team with two stars has the opportunity to open up $16M in cap space?

I don't think that you understand what Frontloading means in contract terms because Harden's contract isn't front loaded.

Why is Parson's contract going to be a probem? It's the best contract in basketball. Sure he will make more money on his next deal but so will most any good player. Do you feel that Anthony Davis' next contract is going to be a problem for the Pelicans too?

The problem is: When Harden struggles on offense, he's close to worthless and WB at least plays good defense.

I cannot speak for the next 3 years but if there are no trades in the coming months, then you might as well forget about the next year.

Next year is a gone cause if McHale the clueless incompetent coach remains in charge.

Unless Morey pulls off more magic and brings in another SUPERSTAR such that talent only takes us to the top. McHale is a net liability.

Not really. In addition to being a very good rebounder and passer for a 2 guard, Harden is affecting the game by the amount of attention that he draws.

Portland schemed to stop Harden by keeping both their bigs in the paint to prevent Harden from driving. Harden's defender overplayed to prevent him from driving left and instead forcing him back to the middle where the two bigs were waiting for him.

That strategy limited Harden's opportunities to drive but there is a cost for playing that type of defense. We got many open looks from the 3pt line and they had to play Howard 1-on-1 most of the time. Those opportunities were created because of Harden's presence on the floor. Unfortunately, we didn't shoot the ball well enough to swing it to our advantage.

Memphis is a much harder team to beat than Portland.
