Karl... and Mchale can be the pseudo token coach while Karl really runs the show.

Lawrence Frank? Mike Woodson? Avery Johnson? Lionel Hollins probably won't take an assistant gig.

would love to see elie, cassell, or hakeem. dont know if hakeem wants to. also not sure how good of these guys are, specifically, at coaching defense.

the one thing hakeem would have to offer is that (hopefully and presumably) harden would listen to him. i could see harden brushing off bickerstaff or finch, as neither played at a high level. but when hakeem talks, i'd hope he really takes i to heart.

Not sure if it could ever happen, but I like the Avery Johnson idea. If PG is considered to be a weakness on this team, then Johnson will get the most out of Bev and Lin. Not to mention between Lin and Johnson, Rockets might as well have effectively signed Christ too.

JVG. He speaks his mind. He won't sit there and watch Mchale sabotage his job

Lionel Collins is great. I love what he did to Memphis and that team looked lost without him for a bit.

Derek Fisher might be interested. He was coached under zen master Phil Jackson and he's a great point guard.

Mike Brown as a defensive guy. We have the pieces to play defense, just not the smarts. Maybe he can mold that into us.

    adleman come to us please

Hmmm. Avery Johnson wouldn't be the worst choice.

    Doc Rivers.

Seriously, though. Sam Cassell looks good. An NBA champion like Kevin McHale and worked for McHale in Minnesota.

If McHale is really staying, then the lead assistant needs to be real good. I mean head coach level good. So...basically it's like we are looking for a head coach. Just need to pay the guy and hope he doesn't mind the "assistant" title.

It's pretty sad that we have to hire an elite assistant coach to do all the work because we have a head coach who doesn't do ****.

I mean if he's not an X's and O's guy, and if he's not going to hold his players accountable, WHAT THE **** DOES HE DO THEN?!?!
