Otis Thorpe : If they kept records on the number of dunks in a career, he has to be at the top of the list. OT was not a fancy dunker just pure power. I loved it when he would palm the ball on his way to the rack. Thanks for the memories Mr. Thorpe.
I don't know..Bill Willoughby couldn't play a lick,but could crank out David Thompson like jams......in practice.
Francis first since he is obviously the most acrobatic... and then... ...Hakeem the Dream Olajuwan since he could throw down a nasty dunk back in the day.
But could he still do it while he was a Rockets? What the hell, how can we leave out Phi Slamma Jamma! Clyde and Dream Francis somewhere down the line!
I don't know about the best dunkers in all of Rockets history but in addition to the ones mentioned, I liked Robert Horrys dunks for some reason.
haha, i loved horry's dunks - i remember the one game i think his rookie season where he took it to the hole at least 7 times, and those were the only points he scored in the entire game - i can't remember who that was against, but i thought the rockets should've handed it to him every time down the floor because he was UNSTOPPABLE!
i remember Horry used to do that head shake after dunks like he was trying to get the water out of his ears after swimming. Though I guess that's not much sillier than Steve and his antlers thing.
Buck Johnson got off a couple a nice ones in his day. Worst dunk attempt was the one that Cato tried to throw down either early this year or late last where he caught the front of the iron, and the ball catapulted straight up in the air and somehow managed to find the hole. Pathetic.
Hakeem threw down countless power-dunks in his prime. But, in my mind anyway, grace trumps power. Steve Francis. His dunks are balletic.
