Buddy sent this to me. He found it on Reddit. Shows a diagram of the average number of passes between players in the starting lineup for all the NBA teams. The Rockets seem pretty balanced between all the players with exception of TJones who probably doesn't pass as much since he doesn't see the ball. Seeing some of the crazy connections like Paul-Griffin of Clippers is interesting.
I agree. Still pretty cool nonetheless. We have a lot of interactions between our Core 4, Bev/Harden/CP/Dwight. I wonder how much Jones' lack of interactions is due to playing less minutes. Is there a per minute adjusted version of this data?
Rockets has the most balanced passing in the starting group. Most balanced and perhaps most unpredictable offense in the league. Chicago and Orlando are the next closest in terms of balance.
They gotta give it to him first! I guess what the graphic kind of shows is which players are more instrumental in the halfcourt offence side of things. Jones job is to 'space' the floor for the other players, and so he finds an open spot and shoots, or drives to the hoop OR makes a cut to receive the pass and finish. Obviously we don't want him creating for the others - and rightly so.
Agreed - and all they have to do is just to make the connecting links thicker on the end of receiving more and thinner on the end receiving less passes. But cool graphics OP!
C'mon man its easy. Look at the Knicks. Carmelo Anthony has thin bands except for Raymond Felton, which we all know is a unidirectional pass. No passer/receiver info needed On a serious note, it would be nice info but how would you add it to the chart without making it extremely complicated to follow. Maybe end tips that vary in thickness to identify the percentage of pass contribution to the line thickness.
