So the teacher finds the children in the bathroom who admit to what they are doing. Principal was told immediately and subsequently the police were involved. I'm failing to see what the teacher did wrong here. I can't imagine how uneasy you must feel after seeing that.

Although she probably had nothing to do with them having that idea, keep in mind this is the classroom restroom. It's not the restroom down the hall they just happened to walk into. She's personally in charge of who goes in and out of her restroom. A boy and a girl should have not been in there at the same time and that's likely why she got suspended.

I'm sorry for all you people who put no blame on the teacher, but if my kid went to the bathroom at his class and another kid followed him into the bathroom, you're damned right I'd be upset at the teacher.

So she left two 5-year-old kids, together, unsupervised in the bathroom.

Yeah, that's grounds for disciplinary measures.

My sisters friend had a similar thing happen at a day care she was working at... She walked into the room to start the day and she saw three 6 year old boys performing sexual acts on a young girl who was letting them do it to her.

She didn't get in trouble though... They called CPS on the parents because obviously they learned some things they shouldn't have.

 

What do you think the teacher did wrong, specifically?

Since it's the hangout I will refrain from flinging poo at your generalized horror and blame, and only retort by saying it's a little much in my eyes, that not only are they trying to fire a 15 year teacher for something she caught and reported (guess what your outrage will cause for the next unlucky teacher that catches kids doing something like this that they shouldn't be) but now they are trying to tackle the administrator for it.

I don't know the details of this situation, but as someone who has witnessed this sort of a situation between community, teachers and administrators before, I will only say that it always amazes me how ready people are to tear others apart to lay blame.
