I think I may be okay with this deal that includes Parsons. But I would not throw in any picks. Well, maybe our 2014 pick that's likely to really suck. But definitely nothing more. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lymdqpw
True. But the same issue that's causing the Celtics to have issues trading Rondo(specifically he won't re-sign with crappy teams and all contenders with trade chips also have stud PGs) would also apply if we were to get him then trade him. If he's a Rocket, he'll be one in the forseeable future. There's no point in buying low when the end result is to sell low. Right now Rondo's a buy low, but he'll never be worth on the market as he will be with the Rockets.
With Rondo in the fold, the Rockets will have ABSOLUTELY NO CAPSPACE for likely the next 5 years. Whether Green has a 3 year contract or 2 no longer applies should the Rockets land their 3rd max player. Morey only cared about salaries before because of FA pursuits. If Rondo's on board, his FA pursuits would come to an end.
In my honest opinion Morey won't trade Parsons, solely for the fact that right now he is a not only a fan favorite but a key contributor to this team Parsons ranks 7th in scoring, 4th in shooting %, 13th in rebounds, 4th in assists, 9th in 3pt % and 7th in double doubles when compared to the other SF's in the league. Last time I checked that's way more than just "a bit above average", also I think some of you forget Parsons is still relatively young at the age of 25. And yes, I know "stats aren't everything" but everything outside of the stat column only helps Parsons case as he is obviously a fan favorite as well as a big part in why Dwight said in an interview, during All-Star weekend, that the teams chemistry was amazing, and they were all just having fun being apart of the team. I know that there's no guarantee Parsons won't be traded, as anyone who deems he has to be traded to get rondo or simply won't be traded at all is oblivious to the NBA trade market. If a trade for a superstar comes our way there is certainly a possibility he is dealt, but Morey knows if a trade involving Asik (or Lin) plus a first rounder turns for the worse then he won't receive as much criticism as if he would trade a valuable starter and fan favorite in Parsons.
Nope... Rondo will keep Harden in check, LIMITING the amount of isos that he does per game! At least I hope so!
all this trading parsons BS is comical. he's not being dealt for a pg who can't even play back2back games. if morey trades for rondo, it will be: asik/lin/1st rounder for rondo & filler (not jeff green, lol) then boston can flip asik to philly for a 1st rounder. and boston will essentially get lin + 2 1st rounders for rondo.. which is damn good.
Well, you said the 3yr deal was why that's laughable. Now you say it's the $9mil? So which is it? Also, Morey won't care of Green's hit. The Rockets will be way over the cap regardless and it doesn't affect how they manuever in the future. The only person who would dislike Green's contract is Les Alexander. Because he's writing the checks.
