The McHale apologists can say what they want but he is still an awful coach. I still stand by what I said when starting this thread. McHale cannot run plays for ****
Knew we would lose. So unbelievably incompetent at the end of close games..like wow...he basically told Chandler to get he ball and then "read and react". No screens, just passing around the perimeter for a bad shot.
Bring in a new coach before it's too late. Team is going to need time to learn the new system, the sooner the better.
YOU GOT A GUY THAT IS A DEFENSIVE STOPPER ON THE PERIMETER AND GAVE YOU BACK A KEY POSESSION YOU GOT A GUY THAT ANCHOR THE DEFENSE IN THE PAINT YOU GOT A GUY THAT GAVE YOU 10 ****ING 3'S. HOW DO YOU NOT MAKE IT WORK AS A COACH?
real ugly coaching in the last few minutes. Every play failed after coming out of a TO. just speechless
McHale is a genius. Everyone was expecting Harden to make the last two plays. The Grizzlies were prepared for it. McHale throws them off by giving the ball to Parsons and letting him create on the last two possessions. Frankly, this was a brilliant impromptu coaching move. Unfortunately his assistants forgot to remind him that Parsons cant create.
I got all kinds of bad rep for starting this thread and still do with anonymous McHale apologists hurling insults LOL I will say it again - McHale is an awful coach just plain incompetent and clueless
Why didn't he give it to harden is beyond me. Yes, I understand that Harden was struggling. Harden shows for the last few weeks that he got it down when closing out game. His crossover and then a step back jumper. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU DRAW UP A PLAY FOR PARSONS TO CREATE? Why didn't you run the elevator plays where you copied the Warriors? Lucky parsons got hot, else rockets would have lost by 10.
worst coach ever parsons was hot all second half coach never made any effort to try to get him more shots he is the worst defensive coach in the league - hands down dont even want to start with the last 2 possessions I think any person in this tread could coach better\
I mean, it's not even that difficult. You put Harden and Howard on one half of the court and have Harden get the ball so it appears they're working the P'n'R - much like the one earlier in the game. Parsons is in the opposite corner. TJones and Lin/Bev are on the 3 point line extended on the side with Parsons too. As Harden and Howard are working the clock down - Jones goes to set a pick on the 3 point line in the corner for Parsons. Parsons goes to use the pick simultaneously as James starts to make his penetration. Parsons cuts back and goes baseline for the alley oop. Gasol is worried about Howard. Harden's man is worried about him. Parsons man is nowhere near Parsons on the baseline / if he reads it T Jones can then set an actual pick whilst Chander's running baseline to actually get him open. IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO DRAW UP A PLAY KEVIN MCHALE. Why. Just why are you this incompetent.
