Brooks can score when he is on but that's all you get. Lin can score, plays D and above all else, he get's the ball to his teammates by drawing the D, making good passes and being unselfish. Even though he was almost non-existent tonight, the team was still moving the ball a lot better with Lin in the game than with Brooks. That's why McHale deserves this big L that we got- it was his pathetic coaching.
Lin fans won't like that move. It would be better for Lin since he was playing so much better coming of the bench. But idk AB isn't that great defender plus he doesn't lob to Howard. He does give Howard better passes even w less time playing w him. He has more experience w those passes. But AB is a scorer first. And btw when pat comes back he needs to look for Howard. He is terrible at looking for him and passing him the ball or lobbing.
I loved AB with his first stint here but he isn't the player he used to be. He is a back end bench player with an offensive spark. Needs to be on a 2nd unit that actually has plus defenders. Unfortunately we don't have any of those, so brooks game isn't really suited for our current team... We can't afford to have him in a lineup with defense already lacking.
Lin can finish at the rim.......if he has confidence. He has none at the moment. His emotions impact his game too much. When he is confident, he is phenomenal, when he looses it, he's a train wreck and it takes him a long time to recover. It's all in his head with him, he always seems to plays cared when in the starting lineup
Brooks is a massive liability defensively, and the only thing he does better than Lin is spot-up shooting. Can't believe people would seriously suggest this.
he was just playing what the coaches told him to do. most of the games he was playing "PBev" basketball - defense, 3 pointers, pass it the harden. When he is back to the 2nd lineup u will see the aggressive lin.
Two back up PGs and one starting PG that the coach wants to prove is a back-up in order to satisfy his bruised ego.
Nope. I said it correctly the first time. I don't believe any of them are starters on a contending team.
If you expect your best passing point guard to play as a back up shooting guard with limited usage then you're going to struggle to find one that can start in that role.
I'd rather have the ball in Harden's hands then Bev, Lin or Brooks. Now if we added a player like Rondo my perspective would be different.
The ball in Harden's hands is a bad idea at the start of the shot clock. The idea should be to get Harden and Howard the ball in such a way that the defense isn't keyed in on them. It's much easier for them to score then and Lin can do this. Look at the last possession of the pelican's game? That was a great play. Lin starts with the ball, draws the defense and passes to Harden who has a mismatch now. Harden is not a natural playmaker, he is a natural scorer. Lin is a natural playmaker. If you let him actually play his role and give him some freedom he can average 8+ assists a game comfortably. But Mchale has never shown any real faith in him. But you never thought Lin was good enough and I doubt anything I say will change your mind until he has a coach who trusts him and gives him some freedom to play.
