For a guy under-used and still averaging 13+ point and 4.5 assists a game? If you put Lin on Milwaukee, he'd be average 20+
Teams will make dumb offers for Lin's on\off the court services... but the rockets organization are smart enough to avoid it totally... they can immediately offer him a proper contract (lets say 5m-6m for 3-4 years) before other people do... Lin is a pretty straight up guy, as long as the rockets are straight him, I have no doubt that they can settle this contract thing very early...
exactly, it is a combination of things. If Lin fits well in Houston, I can see him taking less money especially if Rockets can go to Western Conference Finals this or next year.
No, I really do think Lin is a very good pg on a fast paced team that pushes the ball. I think he is still developing, and I would like to see him stay around after next year. I don't see the Rockets continuing to pay him 8m a year, and I think 5 or 6 would be a fair offer.
8 Mil CAP 5 Mil PAYOUT for a streaky shooter that's going 9.5FGA 14.2PTS 4.2AST @ 47%FG 35%3PT 79%FT. Yes PLEASE. Better than 70% of the contracts out there
that's courtney lee/andre miller money. lin would be the worst paid starting caliber point guard in the league...he's leading the league in several categories, and is still getting better, not to mention all the taiwanese sponsors he's bringing in
Hes putting up better stats than players who make way more than him and hes not even the 1st option on the team. I think he might end up leaving the Rockets for another team that will throw more at him. If not, staying with the rockets might be better since he will have chemistry and also bonded with this team.
I think he'll end up moving to a team that'll let's him start. I mean would you stay and be a backup for Bev? He'll probably look for a team where he's 1st or 2nd option. Right now he takes like what 9-10shots a game? I can see him being a 20ppg+ player if he finds a team that will let him chuck up 15-17shots a game. idk that's just my 2cent and what I would do if I were him...its probably best for his career as well.
stats does not make a player happy... players who do this are selfish, shallow minded people... can't think beyond 5 mintues ahead of them... if that is how you picture lin then so be it lol
I have no doubt Lin could average at least what, 18/8 running his own team in the east. But he has a chance to be a big part of a hopefully very successful team, as a 6th man or in whatever capacity. Given what we know about his character I'd have to lend to the latter.
Yea i'm not gonna disagree with this for sure....Lin does look like a loyal honest player so I won't be surprise if he stayed.
If the team is successful, Lin would likely stay if he gets a 4-5 year contract for 5 mil plus per season with a last year player option. But we can't deny that he might get a 6-8 million per/year contract depending on teams out there. If it were the Lakers, would you turn down a 4 year/25 million dollar contract to be a STARTER? Hard to say.. Ultimately I think Lin wants to start...I doubt he goes to a low end team.. He will get paid good money and go to a low end playoff team where he can start and make a difference. The Rockets are his only chance to make it deep into the playoffs...so he may end up sticking for 5 years @ 20 million with a no trade clause..
Lin is worth at least $7-8M. His true worth is probably closer to $9M, making in an above-average PG. Teams have paid much more for a 15/5 level player. *shrugs*
