I think the opposite is true. Having a guy like Bev out there may give other players a lax attitude - meaning they won't feel like they have to try as hard on D. I would think with him out, they'd be a little more aware and pay attention to their man a bit more. Guess not.

Wasn't there a players dinner or something last here where people were called out for lack of effort? Wasn't PPat one of the people doing the calling out? And wasn't he traded shortly afterwards?

Harden is not super human, as long as he is playing 40+ mins and carrying the offense, he is not going to have any energy left to play D. He is going to wear out, and it's on the Coaches.
But his D was non-existence from the beginning... Actually became a little better as the game went on. Maybe a coach only meeting is needed .
