Agree, which is why the need for a players' meeting suggests, to me, that Mchale is not being effective in getting things changed by holding players responsible, which in turn would suggest that this is about players that carry some clout.
Right. I feel players only meetings can be an indicator that the coach is losing the locker room so the players try to gain some type of control and cohesiveness on their own. Leadership is so important and when leadership from the coaching position is lacking that can be pretty difficult to overcome, I don't care what players you have on your team. If I'm not mistaken, I remember reading somewhere that Doug Collins felt Harden didn't play with a high motor most of the time in college and thats something Collins checked him on every time he saw him. McHale needs to check Harden or else. When Harden was in OKC, he was humbled by coming of the bench and probably played with more effort than he does now. Harden got the huge head especially when GMs anointed him the best SG in the league, he needs to be knocked back down a notch, something a real coach would do.
Here's the link to the article I was talking about referring to Harden having no motor in college: http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2012/12/20/collins-got-hardens-motor-running/
Effort, energy, effort, energy. The problems with the team are so much more complicated than those same 2 terms I hear all the time. From the sounds of things the team will start beating teams that do not have as much talent yet still have a 2nd round ceiling.
Don't say that. We are the most predictable team in the NBA and easily stoppable on offense. It's all a front; our offense is quite easy to stop.
I was pissed they lost to the kings. If they lose to them with two days rest at home and the Knicks on the second game of a back to back I don't know what I'll do. There really is no excuse for them to lose, especially after a players only meeting.
