Yea but on an all time team I think being a floor general is less important, everyone else can create for themselves and others. Magic is also not a good 3pt shooter, and really not that great a defender either.
Best 3-point shooting team assembled around Hakeem/MJ - C: Hakeem Olajuwon PF: Dirk Nowitzki SF: Larry Bird SG: Micheal Jordan PG: Chauncey Billups This team would drain 3's if Hakeem or MJ aren't scoring. Other teams are unrealistic. Here you can imagine Billups, Bird, Nowitzki ready to catch and shoot off Hakeem or MJ. Best 5 by position would be: C: Kareem PF: Tim Duncan SF: LeBron SG: Jordan PG: Magic Johnson Hate to take Kareem, but numbers don't lie. I want to say this team though: C: Hakeem PF: Barkely SF: Larry SG: MJ PG: Magic Johnson
Magic is easily the greatest PG of all time, but would he really be the best fit on a team with Jordan, LeBron and Dream. I think a lot of people are confusing best player at each position and team that would play the best.
So many choices... I think the following team would be a nightmare to go up against.... C - Hakeem Olajuwon PF - Kevin Garnet SF - Lebron James SG- Michael Jordan PG - Gary Payton Each one is probably the best defender at his position so no help defense needed. They can each play their man straight up and if there was ever a need to play help defense, you couldnt form a better defensive team. They will shut the passing lanes down. They will shut the perimeter down. They will shut the paint down. Defense is KING and if I want to shut the other team down, this is what I would field. Mentally tough guys too. Payton, Jordan, and Kevin would probably kill the game even before it started with their trash talk. Oh yeah they can score too. Create their own shots or for their teammates. Two way players at each position with really no weaknesses to their games.
